Lio gave his best bright smile, but hers didn’t change. “Good morning, come on in you two.” She said, and we walked inside past her. My mother closed and locked the door behind us before catching up. We all walked down the long hallway that leads into the rest of the house. I asked my mom a while back why they wanted such a long hallway and she said for security reasons.

I shook my head. Only then did Mom relax. She offered another word of comfort. "These days, anything can be faked. Don't take it too much to heart. Just wait for the police to finish their investigation." I was just about to agree when my mother suddenly lifted her head, her gaze passing over me toward the doorway. "Uncle Harold? How are you?" I turned around and saw a small, wiry old man with a lively spirit stepping through the door. "Great-Uncle Harold! It's been so long, and you're still so strong!" I quickly put down the yarn ball and stood up to greet him.

“I am, actually.” My mother claps her hands, leading us into the house. The smell of roasted meat, fresh bread, and something sweet hits us immediately. The house is warm, loud, and alive. Cousins, aunts, uncles, and neighbors mill around, and the chatter is deafening. Julie’s eyes dart from one face to another, trying to keep up. “Luke’s finally here!” Carolina shouts, bounding down the hallway. ****************** Handy drove inside his mom's house and he parked his car inside the compound with his guards waiting for him outside. "Where is my mom?" he asked the house keeper immediately he walked inside. "She is at the backyard sir" the house keeper answered with her head bowed. He rushed to the backyard and there he saw his mom seated on a chair a cigarette on her mouth with a drink on her other hand. It was white, there were six garage doors and then in the middle, there was a huge wooden door, obviously the front door. The house was at least a three-story house, maybe even more from the inside. I wasn’t sure; I looked at the house in awe. My mom parked the car and we all got out. We walked up to the front door and my mom opened it. There was a huge walk-in area and to the left was a dining area and then there was a little hallway to the right. There was a living room in front of the walk area. I'm hungry mom, what did you cook? ” I ask her as I search around for a lunch box or something to eat. “Go and check for yourself at home ” She waves me off to concentrate on her flower arrangement. My mom's house is an extension of the shop not very far. A white bungalow with a small picket fence. She's so lucky that she stays in a safe neighborhood. I wouldn't want to imagine what could happen to her at night.

“He’s got that big house all to himself since Mom left. It’ll be fun—pool, movies, no dorm rules.” Emma agreed, packing an overnight bag with a mix of excitement and nerves. Liam’s house was a sprawling colonial with a white picket fence hiding a modern interior with polished hardwood floors and floor-to-ceiling windows.
