Not too long, my school fellows quickly arranged their text books and started walking out of the class at once, going on a different ways as good as other students.

They actually put this stuff in books?? At 14 I was nowhere close to having extremely intimate thoughts about males! “I told you! I know that won't be easy for you," Lei said, turning the book back to normal and handing it to Erika. Lei said that normal people couldn't read what was in the book because the book she gave him was not ordinary. "That book is only for deities except for my niece and I, so we can read it because we're not ordinary," Lei replied.

I glance at the cover of the book she slid across the counter: a Catherine Bybee novel. “Oh, wow, Mathilda. You’re a fan of Catherine Bybee?” I smile, genuinely impressed as I open the ledger. “It’s refreshing to see a teenager with such classic taste. Most girls your age are glued to their phones, but here you are, diving into a good romance.”

Hopefully one or two things will catch your fancy in the matter of character adjustments and or hope for survival. I am a bookworm, a book lover I mean. I've always been one right from kindergarten. I read so much books I felt I would explode one day if I didn't stop. I didn't stop, and I also did not explode. Instead, they made me smarter. I read mystery books, thrillers and fantasies or general kid books. I read teen fiction too but I stayed away from horror. Mom bought me all of my books. I've got at least seventy books in my bookshelf and mom got them all for me. It was not a problem for her at all.

And weren’t we always taught not to judge a book by its cover? As Liviana’s view of life widened and nothing seemed so simple, she found herself delving into books more and more often. They were her escape- that blanket that kept reality from turning her soul blue. And with the more she read, the more tropes she came across. Star-crossed lovers. Forbidden romance. Opposites attract. Friends to lovers. Enemies to Lovers. And so much more that she absolutely adored.

I said, breaking the Silence. “I should be the one thanking you for keeping your cool when Emily came with all that drama,” Raymond whispered, his eyes still fixated on his drink. I could tell he was nervous and embarrassed. “High school sweetheart, huh? Looks like she likes you. Speak of obsession, ” I chuckled. “You have no idea,” a smirk, curled by his lips. “They all want a piece of me, but they don't hold a candle to my queen.” He said, as his eyes pierced deep into my soul.

She rattled on about how she loves to read books especially love stories and how happy she’s to get a new friend who happens to share the same hobby with her. I don’t fancy love stories because I can easily predict what’s gonna happen next like who wouldn’t? Besides, it’s kind of boring to read the same plot repeatedly; boy meeting the girl, girl meeting the boy, starting from simple infatuation to attraction, then one of’em will confess, and BAM! They start dating and blah blah blah. It’s predictable. I’d rather read genres like adventure, action, crime, thriller, fantasy, etc., where things’re not much predictable plus you’ve to use your brain. At least you can learn something new. “Here w

I gaped at him. “You read her books!” “Read! I love them so much!” “Really?” Liam smiled like he had struck gold. “What’s your favourite?” “All! But I enjoyed the Pink Hearts and Sunshine series more. Daren and Phoebe’s love story is my favourite, but Cain and Debra are my favourite characters. And also The Malcolm Ladies series. I’ve read just the first book and fell in love.” I ranted, and the way he stared at me, listening to my words with rapt attention, warmed my heart. It’s been too long since I’ve had a book buddy, and Liam was reminding me how nice it was to discuss a book with others who loved it also.
