Love Like Cherry Blossoms Novels & Stories

I had believed that I had all the time in the world for us to know each other and that if we were meant to be together, it would happen in its own time. Like a blind man, I wandered into the living-room, my gaze skittering around as if searching for something. It stopped on the cushions Cherry had made. Covers that bore my mate’s namesake: Cherry blossom. It was one of the little quirks I’d learned about her over the last few months as she’d shared her designs with me. In every one, she liked to hide her mark in it somewhere. Even in the clothes she made, she’d invariably stitched the detail of two cherries in. It was her signature in every piece she made.

“You came all the way out here just to visit her grave? You must have been closer than I thought.” “Well, with this whole Luna Trial thing… I thought it only appropriate that I visit.” That wasn’t entirely a lie. Liam’s face fell at the mention of the Luna Trial. He nodded and walked forward, kneeling to place the bundle of flowers he’d brought next to mine. “Gardenias,” he said, brushing his fingers across the white petals. “The closest thing to cherry blossoms that I could find at this time of year.” My heart cracked at the mention of cherry blossoms. Liam knew what I liked. He always did—more than anyone else, except perhaps Lilith.

But he didn’t reach out through the bond—clearly waiting for me to make the first move. Out of instinct, I sent a brief nudge of affection down the bond. Edwin’s lips twitched in response, as though trying not to smile at my contact. My cheeks reddened and I quickly looked away, sipping my coffee even though it burned my tongue. We continued walking, sipping our coffees quietly as we strolled along the sidewalk. Edwin cleared his throat and gestured up at the pink petals swaying in the breeze above our heads. “The cherry blossoms are beautiful this time of year, aren’t they?”

Looking at Maxwell, she paused for a moment before continuing, "Even if you drive her out of the Smith Family mansion, you can't drive her out of your heart. What's the use? I have failed to keep your love..." "Say what you want to say." Maxwell interrupted her, not wanting to hear more of these sentimental words. Chiyoko was suddenly interrupted, felt a pang in her heart, and then looked at the champagne roses in his hand, saying with a sigh, "You probably don't know that I also like champagne roses. I just hope that when you buy flowers for Flora, you can also buy a bouquet for me, okay?"

I didn't sleep all night, and I even brought your favorite cake. If he truly loved me, he would've noticed the bed was still perfectly made. I looked worn out and exhausted, like someone who had been out all night. Compared to him, I was the one who looked like they'd been working overtime. He pulled me down to sit with him on the couch and cut a slice of cake for me. "We're getting married next week. Today marks exactly one week before our wedding." The way he looked at me, so full of emotion and attention—it was nothing short of ironic. But maybe this was a fitting end. A perfect close to a rotten chapter.

I felt like it was cooling the anger and hatred simmering in my heart, putting a cool touch to it. "After the end of cold winter, there is a spring festival with cherry blossom in full bloom. You will like that very much." I heard him say in a small voice. He knew I was going to leave in some days and it's barely been the start of winter; spring wasn't until next year. But I didn't correct him. Because we both maybe wanted to forget about the reality for a moment and live in this dream, until daybreak comes and our eyes open.

Cheryl grinned. The man took out his cellphone from his pants pocket: an expensive cell phone, with black colour. Cheryl started typing as instructed. "Huh, how come the cherry blossoms come out?" "Read the caption." "Cherry blossoms, derived from Japanese, the word 'pocket' which means flower." "Do you see the picture?" Cheryl nodded. "Isn't it beautiful?" "If you are juxtaposed with that flower, you are still the prettiest among them." Cheryl looked at her opponent. She swore that this very instant, Cheryl had fallen in love with the wise man in front of her.

Nanako blinked and smiled mysteriously before she changed the topic and then said with a look of longing, “Charlie-kun, I’ve imagined four kinds of scenarios of meeting you, and the one that I’m looking forward to the most is to be able to walk in the snow with you on a snowy night in Tokyo. Fortunately, this wish was realized last year.” Charlie asked again, “What about the other three?” “The other three...” Nanako admired the trees of New York in the night and sighed as she said, “The second is to walk under the cherry blossoms in Hirosaki Park in a kimono with Charlie-kun. Unfortunately, the cherry blossoms bloom in March or April at the latest, and it has already passed...”

I've told you before. I could see Chelsea thinking hard, then suddenly her face lit up with the memory, "Kisses from your grandpa!" I nodded my head and pulled down a pale pink cherry petal from the branch hanging by my side. I stared at the petal. They were my Noona's favorite. She liked them because they didn't stay for long. She always told me that the best and prettiest things never stay around for long. She said that a cherry leaf was too beautiful to last all year. It was more special because it's life was short. Like the samurai-- extreme beauty, quick death. I still wasn't sure what it all meant but she said I will once I get older.

I was supposed to plan some grand date and go all out but I thought this would be so much more Ryo's speed. The plum tree is in full bloom, the pink flowers are so bright. Their beauty is breathtaking and I knew she would love it. I love it too. I've seen these flowers so many times and they never inspired this type of emotions in me before. Suddenly I appreciate everything a little bit more. And I can attribute this new found appreciation to the beautiful being next to me. It's like she transferred her love for nature to me. Ryo has become the light and color in my life. Her influence is beautiful.
