After Mercedes finishes her tasks in Adelaide's room, she tells her that she can leave and so she does, while Adelaide continues reading for a few more minutes. The young girl's heart quickens with each paragraph. She loves romance novels ever since she learned to read and always dreamt of having a love as beautiful as the protagonists in those novels, although in her case, that seems impossible to fulfill.

Sitting on her bed, with crossed legs - a lady in her pajamas reading a book. More precisely, a romance book. In this age, who doesn't want to dream about those fantastical love stories? If it is about transporting oneself to another dimension, isn't it cool that way? Becoming a villain in a story, isn't it thrilling enough to be adapted into a movie? Jade was one of those people, and forever will be. She's an avid reader of love stories and had a large collection of that in her room.

She rattled on about how she loves to read books especially love stories and how happy she’s to get a new friend who happens to share the same hobby with her. I don’t fancy love stories because I can easily predict what’s gonna happen next like who wouldn’t? Besides, it’s kind of boring to read the same plot repeatedly; boy meeting the girl, girl meeting the boy, starting from simple infatuation to attraction, then one of’em will confess, and BAM! They start dating and blah blah blah. It’s predictable. I’d rather read genres like adventure, action, crime, thriller, fantasy, etc., where things’re not much predictable plus you’ve to use your brain. At least you can learn something new. “Here w

"Tell me now dear, what books do you enjoy reading?" Roxanne was surprised that the woman was being so calm and nice to her. The questions were asked out of genuine curiosity, not the dire need to humiliate her. All eyes were still on Roxanne as she answered, but she suddenly didn't feel so self aware anymore. There was a warm feeling that the woman's smile gave her, and Roxanne appreciated it. "Mostly classical literature and crime thrillers." Eloise appluaded her, a satisfied look glittered in her grey eyes.

Sleep would most definitely be eluding me tonight. But I didn’t particularly care. My big vice was romance novels. I just loved them. And the cheesier and sappier and more unrealistic they got, the more I invested myself in them because, by that point, it was pretty much only the emotions they seemed to evoke that mattered. They were just so yummy and fulfilling and...and amazing. I devoured them like potato chips, damning any sleepless-night consequences that might follow. So basically, I was pretty much determined to finish this entire book tonight.

Books are oxygen for the literate. For me, there's no other way to breathe. Breathing comes naturally to living organisms. For a nerd with a perfect attendance record and zero friends, air fills my lungs, and words fill my head. I like filling my head with facts, opinions, and fanfiction. There's nothing better than reading Harry Potter and Lord of the Rings fanfics on a Friday night.

One by one she plucked out to read from the back and surely, the front cover plays a huge role in her buying. She would blush at the provocative and alluring drawings of man and woman wrapping round each other. Other then getting addicted to books with sultry scene or stories, she was attracted by the depth of the stories itself that calls out to her. The passion between the two characers and their ability to withstand any obstacles around them as well as promising and loving each other with only the language of love that only they can understand.
