Malakar was expecting me to resist. He was expecting a struggle. He was pulling, and I was supposed to pull back. But what happens if you push a tidal wave into a garden hose? I grit my teeth. I stopped fighting the drain. Instead, I opened the floodgates. "You want my power?" I snarled, lifting my head. My eyes were no longer hazel. They were two suns of violet fire.

“Then it’s not just showing me what’s happened. It’s showing me what will.” Theo reached beside the table again and pulled out a second item from the leather folder. It was slim, bound in deep red linen, the corners worn with time. He hesitated before handing it to her. Her breath caught the moment she saw the title: The Crimson Letter By Isla Ward She stared at it, her hand hovering. “Where did you get this?” “I found it last year,” Theo said quietly. “Tucked behind the books in the library’s upper shelf. I didn’t know what it was at first. Just that it felt… wrong.”

Neera stood in her balcony, the skyline behind her glowing gold and steel. The letter burned quickly in the fireproof dish she kept for other purposes — evidence disposal, mostly. She watched it curl and blacken until nothing but ash remained. Kieran Renzaro’s offer — his arrogant, polished, impossible offer — was reduced to smoke. And she didn’t flinch. She wouldn’t play his game. Wouldn’t be someone’s pawn, no matter how shiny the paycheck or how seductive the power behind it. She wasn’t for sale.

A yelp escapes my lips and the files fall to the floor all around me, my eyes snapping up to meet red eyes that seemed to glow from within. My heart races, not just from the physical proximity but from the sudden realization that this wasn't an accidental turn of events. His entire being pressed against me, his proximity sending a myriad of emotions swirling within me—a blend of confusion, indignation, and a hint of something else, something I hesitated to acknowledge. As I stood there, my heart raced with an unsettling mix of anxiety and apprehension as Krimson's voice, usually smooth and seductive, now carried a venomous edge. "It's been a while, Lilac."

Compared to her scent, I felt like the dark one, the one with a black heart. My body wanted her, my hands yearned to touch hers. I wanted to stare into those expressive eyes of hers again, and watch them light up with laughter. And yet, I wanted to punish her, make her suffer for what she had almost done to that man, for what her people had done to Damian and Valerie. Merely thinking of her in any other thing but disgust was a betrayal to the memory of my kid brother, and my first ever girlfriend. I watched Clarrisa step into the hall I used as classroom, distracting me from my thoughts, andI could not say it was an unwelcome distraction.

ILANA. The Blood Moon Festival came five days too early. On the third evening, the moon bathed its eerie, crimson glow over the Nightshade Pack. This was an event rarely experienced and considered by the pack to be a sign from the Moon Goddess, hastening the fate of two destined mates. The pack was in an uproar of joyful frenzy. The whole of the pack square hummed with excitement, as though even the air vibrated in anticipation. I faltered at the door to Rana's small cabin and brushed off invisible lint from the pale blue dress that Rana had lent me for tonight. "Rana, are you sure about this?" I asked, trying to keep the nerves from edging my voice.

She felt like she wanted to cry. But as she looked up, through the dust, suddenly, she spotted something that made her heart stop: the crumbled stack revealed another, smaller stack behind it, one she had not seen before. And there, right in the middle, was a book with a rich, red spine. She recognized it immediately. Suddenly, she felt an electric thrill. This was it. The matching volume. Caitlin nearly lunged across the room, grabbing the book and holding it up to the candlelight with shaking hands.

He held Lexi’s hand and hold it tighter. On the other hand, Azrael cannot stop herself from shedding a tear. Anna was sobbing to which she covered her eyes with her hands and lean on Azrael. “Why aren’t we doing anything?” Azrael whispered to herself as turned her head away from the scene. Not only because Connor’s bloody and limp body, but also from all the packs, especially the Crimson Crest. As the four have their moment, Christine was looking at their devastating figure. Especially at someone she know, someone who might make all the werewolves down, she was staring at Lexi. Her expressionless face made it eerie as she once again snapped her finger to make the scenario vanish.
