I heard Luciano's voice behind me which made me turn slightly. "Is everything exactly the way I wanted?" I asked making him nod his head. "He even hooked up computers for you. He said he left instructions for you in case something happens to Lucifer and needs fixed." Luciano said making me nod my head. "Do you think he'll remember me?" I asked making Luciano nod his head then he walked out of the room, closed the door behind him. I looked at Lucifer, walked over to computer and pushed the enter button which made him turn on. I took a step back, watched Lucifer come alive.

His voice sharpened, every word cold. Silence. When he spoke again, it was quieter, more dangerous. “Handle it. I’ll be there soon.” He ended the call and sat there for a moment, staring out at the dark road ahead. Finally, he spoke. “We’ve got a rat.” The way he said it made my stomach drop. I gripped the steering wheel tighter but kept my eyes on the road. “Who?” Luciano’s gaze cut to me, sharp enough to slice through the dark. One word. One name. “Tommy.”

All giddiness for nothing. "How do you do it?" asked a very familiar voice. Turning I found Luciano Valentino standing in all his glory with one hand tucked in the pockets of his pants and another holding a brown color liquid. It really pains me to see him because of how similar he looks to his brother. Not understanding what he meant, I scrunched my face in confusion. Understanding, Luciano motioned towards Lucas. Oh! He was talking about how I handle Lucas so well as his past nannies failed miserably.

“You don't sound as excited as I expected you to be.” I hesitated. My voice dropped lower as I leaned against the wall. “Justin... the Ruthless Knight... he’s Lucian.”

“What does that mean?” He straightened, the flicker of gentleness gone. “It means the people you’ve been running from? I used to work for them. And they want me back.” The words hit her harder than any bullet. Behind them, in the shadowed far end of the cannery, another set of footsteps echoed—and a familiar, mocking voice slid through the air. “Well,” the intruder drawled, “isn’t this a sweet little family reunion?” Luciano’s entire body went rigid. He knew that voice. And whoever it belonged to wasn’t supposed to be alive.
