Lucy took the box, and caressed the top of it, with a smiling face. “Do you know what’s inside the box?” the old woman asked, Robin. He nods in disapproval. “I don’t know. She never told me about it.” Lucy opens the box and took something out of it. It was a hairpin, with a butterfly pattern, with pink and blue rubies on it, along with some diamonds on it. “This was…..given by my grandpa when I was born,” Lucy spoke. “She gave one thing to each of her grandchildren. And I was given the most beautiful hairpin. It’s hard to believe, isn’t it?”.

She glanced at Clarissa, then at Clifford, and asked Seraphine, "Are they the scumbag and the manipulative woman who are scheming against you?" Seraphine nodded with a polite smile. The lights highlighted her flawless poise and grace. Standing beside Lucy, she matched her elegance effortlessly.

It was a picture from an unknown number. I opened it. It was Lucy again. She'd sent a photo of herself wearing my custom-made wedding dress, the one sewn by a master embroidery artist, every stitch done by hand. It cost six months of work and was my most treasured piece. Now it was draped on another woman's body. In the photo, Lucy grinned at the camera smugly, as if she'd just won some imaginary competition. [What a gorgeous dress. Thanks for letting me have it.] I stared at the message, feeling… nothing.

Lucy POV Before I left four years ago, I made an effort to recall anything of the type, but I was unable to. Since then, the world has advanced significantly. I wasn't that horrible, really. I had coding and hacking skills. Both my decision to leave the room and that of his mother were disregarded by Luca. She left Luca and I inside. A girl approximately Luca's age soon entered when the door was forced open. She had brown eyes that were identical to mine and long, black hair. She was little and short, and she seemed younger thanks to her heart-shaped face and adorable button nose.

The void breathed around me, a million whispering voices promising peace if I would just let go, just dissolve, just become nothing. I hit a surface that rippled like water under flesh. The armory keys burned in my clenched fist. In this realm, the keys were not metal. They were my self. My name. My fury. In the end, the person she trusted the most, Lacee, betrayed her. "Lucy, did your draft have any special designs? Like a unique brooch at the waist or a special flower?" Koven suddenly asked her. Lucy thought about her draft and then her eyes grew wide as she looked at Koven. "Yes, there is! Remember the chain I added at the waist? It's my mom's necklace, and I remember it well. That necklace is in my house right now. It was custom-made, and the designer who made it has passed away.

He was giving a few more interviews today (thankfully, on his own), finally wrapping up his post-war media tour. “Can I ask you something?” Lucy’s eyes were downcast, hyper focused on her work. She was cutting fabric into a pattern for me, moving super slow with big, confident strokes of the scissors like I’d taught her. “Of course. What’s up?” I paused my own project – stitching the lining of the dress – to give my cramping hands a break. We’d been working for over an hour already, in the zone and concentrating while we got the day’s work started.

There's no weapon on Lucy, none that I can see, but i still casually rake my hand through my hair and take one of my hairpins out as I ask cautiously, "What do you mean?" Lucy’s been working here for the past week as Jack's nanny and no one has complained about her, but her being in my room today is strange. Lucy is twisting her fingers together, her behaviour radiating hesitation as she responds, "I studied herbs growing up, Luna. Even though I'm an orphan, I grew up with old shewolves that know the ways of the forests and they taught me a lot. I noticed something with your pills earlier. I smelt something."
