Lucy arrived with her folder, a serene expression, and a dark green shawl draped over her shoulders.
“We’re not going to chase memories,” she said as she sat down across from me in Arsel’s office. “We’re going to organize what’s already come up.”
“Like an inventory?” I asked.
“Like first aid for the mind.”
Liv, sitting on the arm of an armchair, raised an eyebrow.
“That sounds less boring than I expected,” she murmured simply.
Lucy ignored her with enviable elegance and placed three sheets of paper on the table. On the first, she wrote orphanage; on the second, she wrote children; and on the third, she wrote man.
