The rain hammered harder, mingling with the black blood pooling in the mud, the air reeking of it. But then, shockingly, David jumped in, his eyes blazing with feral intensity, siding with the monster. They tag-teamed the masked figure, their strikes swift and brutal, like they'd rehearsed it. My stomach plummeted, my thoughts spinning. What the fuck was going on? Why was David turning on us? And who was this masked guy? Liam? My heart clung to hope, but my mind was a mess, recalling Lucy's lies, her claims of her and Steve fucking in broad daylight to wreck me. Was this all her doing? Twisting David against me?

David suggested, it might help Lucian to relax. "Um..
