And now, he would have to live with that decision. When he reached his car, Ace paused, his hands trembling as he gripped the door handle. The cold night air hit him, and for a moment, he just stood there, staring at the hospital entrance. The anger that had fueled him was slowly fading, replaced by a hollow ache that gnawed at his insides. He had lost Lisa. He had lost his sister. And now, he was alone. Ace took a deep breath, forcing himself to calm down. He couldn’t dwell on it. He couldn’t let himself fall apart. There was no going back now, no undoing what had been said.

Diego stood up with a thread of blood coming out of the right corner of his lip, and when he was in front of Ace again, Diego laughed mockingly. “What? Do you think you can stop me from doing this by a simple punch? You were the one who took everything from me when you sent those robbers to kill Eliza.” Diego said completely sure about his words. I’m one hundred percent sure that you killed Eliza for her not to be with me and this time you’ll pay for the consequences of your acts.” “Shut the fuck up!” Another punch.

Luis crossed his arms and watched the table from the side. Zenika smiled. “Don’t worry, Luis. The house style requires the Ace to be counted as 1 point. He still hasn’t won yet. His calm unnerves everyone. “And Ace?” Black lowers his eyes. His voice is quieter this time, heavy. “Dead. Shot by Lance. But… not before he hit him in the shoulder.” Adrianna gasps. The sound rips from her throat before she can stop it. She’s still bound, slumped against the chair, her body aching with every movement, but her mind latches onto those words like a knife to the chest. “Lance…?” Her whisper is so raw it breaks. Her tears come fast, streaking her dirt-stained cheeks. “No—no, please, God—”

I look back at Ty and he sighs handing me a bloody piece of paper. "The fuck?" I yell getting off the counter and everyone mumbles a, ' yeah'. I don't even know what to think anymore. "How many soldiers did we lose Carl?" I hope they are not much. I can't bear the guilt of my pack members losing their loved ones. "Ace is still taking care of that" Speaking of Ace, he's Lily's brother, together with Liam. " Did you uncover what the king was using to blackmail Lily with?" I ask Carl and Gabriel looks away with guilty.

Ace bid his farewell, then gave his respect over to Lucas as he bowed his head with his clenched fist on his chest. Ace really left without saying a word to the brother that he saved. If only their pride wasn’t serving as a hindrance...
