Celine waved at me, smiling sadly, while Jace hugged her closely. "Alright. Take care," I waved at Kevin and Kaleb and left the house. Luca came to join me in Bryan's car after Bryan had put my boxes in his car trunk. "I am following you, Bryan. Let me see where you're taking my sister to," Luca insisted, and Bryan didn't oppose. Smiling, Bryan replied, "Be our guest." Bryan carefully closed the car door, as I sat on the front seat, watching Jace and Celine walking out of the house with Kevin and Kaleb.

“I brought my brother.” The man stepped forward, standing right in front of the desk now. “I thought it was time we had a talk,” Her brother, Luke said, voice deep and calm, but with a rough edge. “Man to man.” Barry leaned back in his chair, his face unreadable. “Go on.” Luke took a slow breath and looked around the room like he was sizing it up. Then his eyes locked on Barry again. “You’ve been playing with my sister,” he said, his voice dropping. “Leading her on. Ignoring her when it suits you. Touching other women like she’s nothing.”

My mum sees this and looks at me questionably. "We have a problem." Luke's face turns serious. For once my heartbeat skips. Is this about Sydney? Is he hurt? Luke raises his head and looks at me and panic crosses his face as he stands and comes to me. "Shit, sorry Isa. Sydney is okay. It's just that Liam knows you're here and so both of you have to move." Bryan simply ignored her question and retorted, "Slandering your sister like this in public, is that all you are capable of, Liana Swann?" This comment was like a slap in the face to Liana. The humiliation was unbearable. Bryan looked at Liana in disdain as if looking at a garbage pile. This made Liana almost choke with anger.

After diverting his attention away from Bruce, Bryan reached out and grabbed the packet of cigarettes that was sitting on the tea table in front of him.

She held her brother back. "Dad just called me." Luke said and angrily left his sister. "Don't venture back into the forest." He said after walking a few feet away. Evelyn has secretly gone to the stream hoping that Blake would magically appear but he didn't. She ignored her brother and went off to the stream and not with hopes to see Blake but being there alone gives her the serenity she wants.

Billy wasn’t aware he’d made a misstep. “Luke died about two years ago, remember? This is Luke’s brother, Brandt McKay. Brandt, this is Billy Reynolds.” They shook hands. “Sorry about that,” Billy said. “Sometimes I think I’ve landed on my head too many times and my memory is goin’.”

I thought he was losing his mind. I thought Luc was dead. "Your sister is fine . . ." His voice trailed off, his words dragged like he was making sure to pronounce the words correctly. Then he looked at me. "She's alive."
