Mira’s knees struck the stone with enough force that she winced. “I am Mira Carey,” she said through clenched teeth. “I pledge my allegiance to Luna Selene, Alpha Ronan, and BloodHowl. I offer my loyalty, service, and life in defense of the crown.” Her voice was barely audible, but the rage in her eyes screamed every word she refused to say. The satisfaction that moved through me wasn’t gentle or forgiving. For years, she had enjoyed watching me lower myself to serve her. She had laughed when Helene treated me like filth and joined in whenever humiliating me might earn her another scrap of attention.

She approached us, placed her hand over our joined hands, prayed to Selene, and nodded to Jackson. “I, Jackson, Alpha of the Silver Moon pack, declare you, my mate Loreen Liira of the Silver Moon pack, our Luna—the Luna who will stand beside me to lead and protect our pack,” Jackson proclaimed. “I, Loreen Liira, born of the Lunar Eclipse pack and now a member of the Silver Moon pack, accept the title of Luna to Alpha Jackson and to our Silver Moon pack,” I said, locking eyes with him.

“I am thinking about taking Sienna as my chosen mate.” My heart stopped beating. He was choosing another she-wolf instead of me. And not just any wolf. Sienna. She wanted to get rid of me. And she will. She will become a Luna and she will exile me from my pack. Maybe she will even kill me when she finds out I am Logan’s true mate. “Why didn’t you already do that if you think she will be a great Luna?” my brother asked angrily. “I wanted to wait for my true mate.” Logan answered. “To see if I was gifted with a strong she-wolf. But now that I see that is not the case, I can freely choose somebody else.”

Luna, sensing the anticipation in Mira's eyes, observed the interaction. Alpha Burst, with a paternal smile, replied, "Mira, you're still quite young for hunting. It requires experience and caution." Mira, undeterred, turned to Luna with a pleading expression. Luna, feeling the heartfelt request of her daughter, exchanged a glance with Alpha Burst. Understanding the importance of granting Mira's wish, Luna nodded in agreement. "Alright, Mira, you can join the hunt, but we will keep a close eye on you," Luna assured, her maternal instincts guiding the decision.

But when he saw her, he felt those rumors were completely off! His thoughts suddenly became chaotic, but he quickly found a reasonable explanation. Princess Monica had been destined to be the Luna of the Red Stone Pack since childhood. Perhaps that's why the Blue Moon Pack was overly indulgent and doting towards her.
