He suddenly missed his mother, he wanted to see her. "What is your mother's name?" asked Luz, interested in her mother-in-law. “Alba, the best woman and mother in the world” spoke, outlining her pride and love for her caring mother. Luz wished she could talk about her mother like that, not that Karen wasn't wonderful, but it was difficult to see her qualities when she only brought sadness and lectures. I heard the door open and mom came out of the room, cleaning her hands from the blood Louve had spilled defending herself and the kids in school. “How is she, mom?” I asked, my palms sweating and my heart racing at a hundred miles per hour. “She’ll be okay, but she needs a lot of rest. Louve is in a delicate condition, she can’t even shift to her human. We have to keep her in observation and see if she’s healed enough to let Zaire take over,” she replied, putting her hand on my shoulder in comfort. “Thank you, mom. I appreciate all your hard work. Can I see her?”

She looked fragile and easy to break– I didn't want to break her. “Can you feel me, Mom?” Lulu sobbed. “It’s your second daughter. I have come to see you with my sister and Amanisa doesn't seem to like your current state, Mom.” Lulu said the word “Mom” like it was a gem on her tongue. She choked on the word, causing my heart to clench. “Amanisa and Lulu are here beside you, Mom.” Lulu uttered, sniffing back her uncontrollable tears, “Do you even know who Lulu is? I want you to open your eyes so you can see me and feel me, Mom.”

“He and mom meet at a Potterworld event.” Zane and I look at each other and then breath Luna in deeply. “WOW, Dude,” I say, not believing he didn’t notice. I mean, she is not a pack member, but not a rogue either, since her mother is clearly a human. “Hey, I wasn’t sniffing her for that,” Zane defends himself. “Sniffing me?” Luna narrows her eyes at him. “What does your Mom tell you about your Dad?” I ask. Luna continues to stuff her face and shrugs.

P turned up the music a bit louder and Texas Sun by Khruangbin and Leon Bridges started playing in the background. “You know, Damon, I feel like I've seen you before.” Mom said to Damon. Damon smiled at my mom. “Oh really? I have a familiar face so maybe that's it.” He replied. “No... That's not it. I can't just put my finger on it yet. Maybe it will come back. I usually have a really good memory.” Mom replied. “That guy must've hit you harder than you realise, Liz. Maybe we should go back to the hospital tomorrow.” P said with a worried look at Mom. “Don't be daft. I feel fine. Now pour me another wine will ya?” Mom said, sticking her tongue out.
