Her hands tightened on the book as she held it up to her chest, tightly. Her legs shook slightly as she made her towards the chair. The scent of tobacco and rain filled her nostrils, registering a name at the back of her head. Xandros. She gulped. In all of her lives both in her imagination and reality, never had she expected to see Xandros sleeping. In a library of all places. A book was opened before him and she could see the title atop on of the pages. Tales of the dark. It was a book for Lycans. She could make that out, not that she would understand a shit about it. What she knew about them were the stories told. Nothing more.

I settle in next to her, the thrifted book already open in my lap. As Valerie’s tech begins her manicure, I dive into the pages. My fingers flick through chapter after chapter, heart speeding up every time the word Lycanthrope appears. But it’s all the same vague mythology I’ve seen before, dark forests, full moons, primitive tribes. No mentions of crimson eyes. No whispers of mind control. No mention of the war or their connection to the werewolves. Just fables. Just fragments. Frustration bubbles in my chest like a kettle about to boil. I shut the book and rest my hands on top of it as Valerie turns to glance at me.

I decide to start with trying to find what ingredients may have been used in the sedative Clay gave me. The first book I pull off the shelf isn't very helpful. It discusses the different myths about how lycans were created but doesn't talk about any possible weaknesses. Placing the book back on the shelf, I scan the titles next to it: 'Lycan Growth and Maturation', 'The Legend of the Lycan', and 'Lycan magic'. Magic? I've never heard of lycans being able to use magic. My interest peaked, and I pull the book off of the shelf and open to the first chapter. I skim through the text, but soon shut the book, deciding to focus on my first task.

But I've been doing a bit of research on Lycans and I've found that they are affected by wolfsbane the same as wolves are.

She plucked one book after another, reading the titles aloud with the excitement of a child at an ice - cream shop. She carefully selected a few promising books, cradled them in her arms, and found a cozy corner with a plush chair to sit herself comfortably.

Elizabeth's point of view: When I was done showering, I took one of the books that I grabbed yesterday from the library and I started reading. Besides getting the information I need, this book does me a great favor by keeping me company. I took one book that's called {The enemy 'Lycans}. It's a book written by the vampire scientist and philosopher 'Athan Denovo'. As expected, this one defined Lycans as the enemy number one of the vampires since they are quietly as strong as the vampires.

As he held me down, ignoring my protests, the door kicked open and before I was able to piece two and two together, the waiter was yanked away from me in the twinkle of an eye. I turned my head to the side to see what was happening, the Lycan was here? Wait, what? He towered over the waiter who was now pressed against a wall, and he was throwing endless punches at him. The waiter was helpless as the Lycan was much more bigger and powerful, "what the fuck are you doing to her?!" The Lycan asked angrily, throwing punches with all his might, not stopping once until the waiter slid to the floor in an unconscious state.

“I thought maybe you’d been looking at them and wondered why they weren’t put back properly, since you’re usually so careful with them.” Viktor shook his head. “I haven’t had time to look at them in weeks.” He strode across the room and plucked a book from Stephan hand, checking the title. It was Lycanthropy. Raising the book to his nose, he took a sniff. A faint trace of Adriana's scent remained. Grimly, he clenched the book in his hand. “I think we have a problem.” ********

The both of them are friends from their little age, doing a lot of things together and making sure that their bound of friendship is tight.
