Lyla jabbed her index finger in the air, pointing toward my direction and Erin’s. “They used my weakness to subdue and put me in prison. If there is anyone here who should be taught a lesson, that is my worthless sister and her equally worthless mate. They spoiled our plans! They ruined us!” She screeched. Lyla was so beside herself. Her face turned red in anger as she rolled it from side to side. “If they did not thwart our plans, Gavyn and I could have ruled this world better.” At the reminder of her mate, Lyla looked around. Lydia complained. Everyone looked at her in disbelief. “Well, Fallon didn't try to kill him when he was betraying her,” a woman yelled from the crowd. “Yeah, he's a cheater. When it happened to him, he got all emotional, but he was perfectly fine doing the same thing to someone else,” another woman shouted. I could practically hear my sister's jaw clench in anger. “The point is, nobody here is a saint. And if my brother...” Lydia stopped herself. “With that being said, if you want me to stay quiet, you'll have to listen to my demands.”

Lydia took a small step back, her pride slowly dissolving under Camilla’s blazing fury. Gloria snapped next, her tone calm but her eyes fierce. “Listen to me, Lydia,” she said, her voice low but deadly. “Our families have been close for generations. But I swear on everything I hold dear... if you ever try to harm my family again, I will personally see to it that you regret the day you were born.” The quiet hatred in her voice was worse than Camilla’s roar. Lydia’s hands began to tremble.

Lydia stood up from the table, but Nydia's tone turned harsh, "What? You still want to eat? You're not a pig, why eat so much?" Lydia couldn't take it anymore. She slammed down her utensils. "Aunt! Don't you think you're being hypocritical? You're all smiles when Lambert is here, but once he's gone, you target me at every turn! I don't understand. If you don't like me, just say it.
