Novel & Cerita Mad Place Ch 1

Titan raged and my memory is patchy as the wolf used my hands to rip the head clean off of the psychopath before he could even pull the trigger. When I had returned to my senses, I found Cassandra lying on the floor, her limp body barely breathing. I picked her up, cradling her to my chest as my eyes darted around the room. Maretti stood motionless, his eyes fixed on Greg’s corpse and I knew that he had just witnessed a scene he hadn’t ever dreamed was possible. His eyes met mine with an uncertainty and I paused briefly, trying to figure out the words to explain what had just happened. But I didn’t have to. Maretti bowed his head to me, thumping his fist to his chest in a sign of respect.

The only thing that greeted him there was a chain locking the door and a court order taped to the metal bars. All of my and Noah's belongings had been removed from the house. It was as if we'd never lived there at all. Jasper kneeled by the door, much like a homeless drifter. The neighbors spoke ill of him, eyes filled with disdain and mockery. The once highly respected Captain Lincoln had now become public enemy number one. But this was just the beginning. After all, I still had a trump card in my hands. It was something that would ruin Jasper for life, leaving him no room to ever start over again.

Something in my chest slowly relaxed. Once we found the vial and smashed it, we could return to the real world. We could start over. Just then, a faint glimmer appeared in the fog ahead—the crystal vial. I let go of Kyle's hand and stepped forward, reaching out to grab it. The moment it touched my palm, I felt a warmth. I looked down at it, hesitating. "Quick, destroy it, Nora," Kyle said behind me. "Let's get out of here." I didn't move. The small line of text from the book surfaced in my mind.

I almost choked on my own air. Sydney suddenly reappeared, gasping loud enough for the room to hear. “Excuse me! PG-13, hello!” She clutched her glass like she might faint. “You two are insane. People are looking.” Corian just smirked, staring straight at me. “Let them look.” I wanted the floor to open and swallow me whole. And then… because the universe loves to hate me… “Maddie.” I froze. Chad. My stomach sank.

Chapter One The phone buzzes against my ear, and I already know what's coming. Sally's voice cuts through the morning air like a knife through butter. "Dabe, are you sure you packed everything?" Her tone is sharp, worried. "Your passport? Ticket? Phone charger? You can be very forgetful sometimes. Check everything before you leave the house." I roll my suitcase across the hardwood floor, the wheels making that familiar grinding sound. "I have everything, Mom," I say, letting the sarcasm drip from my words like honey.

He’d seen the same fractures I had. And I… I felt like I was cracking from the inside. --- The first sign of real trouble came two nights later. Madison awoke screaming, shadows tearing at the walls, shapes breaking free from her control. “It’s all wrong!” she cried. “It’s inside me, inside *us*! He’s everywhere!” Ian bolted upright from the floor where he had been sitting, eyes wide, trying to make sense of her panic. “Madison, it’s okay. We’re here. Breathe—”

she tells him. I actually roll my eyes. The dog’s intervention gives me time to calm a bit. I manage to speak in a lower voice. “I’m going to get her before I go to the house. She no longer works for you, so take her off the call list.” Madison pushes a small piece of paper toward me. I lean in, receive another low growl from the damn dog, and pick up the paper. Pike’s Motel Room 17 I look up at Madison with renewed anger. “The place is in a fucking piss poor section of town. What were you thinking by sending her on a call there?”

she tells him. I actually roll my eyes. The dog's intervention gives me time to calm a bit. I manage to speak in a lower voice. "I'm going to get her before I go to the house. She no longer works for you, so take her off the call list." Madison pushes a small piece of paper toward me. I lean in, receive another low growl from the damn dog, and pick up the paper. Pike's Motel Room 17 I look up at Madison with renewed anger. "The place is in a fucking piss poor section of town. What were you thinking by sending her on a call there?"

I asked. Before he could answer, the door burst open with a violet crash. And then he was there. The door slammed against the wall. Then he stepped inside. Alpha Zander. His presence filled the room like smoke- choking, thick, wrong. His dark eyes scanned us, landing on Sara like a predator spotting prey. Mom sucked in a sharp breath. Dad immediately stepped in front of Sara. Even Sara didn’t look surprised to see him. And that terrified me. "There you are," he said, smiling. "I've waited a long time for this."
