Blood and Rain
She carried two steaming wooden mugs of her spiced hearth-cider, the warm fragrance of cinnamon, clove, and baked apples cutting through the crisp chill of the night.
"Thought you might need something to ground you after a day like this," Maeve said softly, stepping up to his side and offering him one of the mugs. She kept her tone light, almost casual, deliberately masking the deep emotion she felt seeing him standing whole. "I didn't want to interrupt you and the lad earlier in the courtyard. Gods know you’ve got many centuries of catching up to do, and a son’s eyes shouldn't have to share his father’s face so soon after a resurrection. You both deserved that space."
