“We’re at Auntie Mara’s! There’s chickens! And a big dog but he’s nice. When are you coming?” Daemon shoved into view, pushing her shoulder. “My turn! Hi Mommy! I made cookies but I ate most of them. Don’t tell.” I laughed through tears. “I won’t tell. I promise.” They talked over each other for ten minutes straight. Chickens. Cookies. A frog they named Sir Ribbit. How Auntie Mara lets them stay up past bedtime if they whisper. How much they miss my hugs. Morris finally leaned in. “Mommy needs to rest now, okay? She’ll call you again soon. Love you both to the moon.”

Micah carried Halle over to me. Though Halle could not see, her sense of smell was sharp, and she asked me in a worried tone, "Mommy, are you bleeding? Let's go to the hospital now. Mommy..." Micah crouched down to look at the panicked Halle. "Halle, do you want your mommy to go to the hospital? If you do, then call your daddy and tell him to come here."

“Your leg hasn’t healed properly. What if something happens?” Dominic lowered his head. “If I don’t try, how are we supposed to live?” I had no answer. So on his first day, I went with him. I wanted to make sure he could handle the road. We rode slowly into town. The road was uneven, and the motorcycle shook badly in several places. I kept reminding Dominic to slow down, and he nodded each time. At the town entrance, we waited for passengers. Most people hesitated when they saw Dominic’s injured leg and the strange motorcycle. Some looked at us with pity. Others pretended not to notice us at all.

Kiara: “Just as promised” I said entering the basement to see the man wearing fresh clothes, his hair tidied and his mess cleaned. Maddie was sitting on the floor with him as she helped him eat, three of his fingers were broken, which explained why he couldn’t eat himself. His eyes widened when he saw me, and he stood up looking at me with hopeful eyes “they are safe in the living room”

She felt a pang of worry in heart, married for two years without a child has been her problem, She loves babies but they couldn't make them, she only thought the problem was from her. And because of that, they visited many hospital in state but they kept hearing the same result and story. The problem is not from any of them, they just need to wait for the time. The right time is what they are waiting for. She pulled fawaz into a hug forgetting about his mother standing behind them . "Erm. I am standing here"Khadija reminded . "Sorry, come in". They went straight to the kitchen where she placed fawaz on top and passed him a plate of cake. "You are actually spoiling this boy "Khadija accused.

It was nearing 7:30pm. Soon an ear blasting sound was heard and sound waves strong enough to destroy their ear drums emitted from a device. Andrew fell to his knees, holding his ears. He hissed. I can counter it but I'll need two minutes tops. He thought pushing some buttons with his left hand. Suzanne held her ears where she was. The girl looked up. 'I'd love to stick around but until next time,' she smirked and then mounted a machine that started flying. She looked back and blew Andrew a kiss before she went out of view.
