A seemingly endless number of walkways weaved from the center stairs and downward. I took a deep breath, noting the tang of something sour in the air, like curdled milk. The voices of thousands echoed as trolls, fairies, gremlins, and other magical creatures busily rushed around. It was a city. "What is this place?" I finally asked. "This is Varden, the place where all the scientific magic happens," he responded, pushing his bulky body past me and walking briskly along the path. The metal shuddered under his weight, and I held my breath. Snow let out a tiny scream.

Samael has made a spell for communication. He is talking to my grandmother inside a magic bubble, making me question his species once more. Are dragon-shifters truly capable of magic designed for witches and warlocks? "I'm sorry, you know." Blake steps forward and picks up my interest with the hint of a smile playing over his lips. Aria's POV Outside the building, lined across the large field like an army of industrial giants, were machines–massive, gleaming, impossible machines. There were just too many to count at first glance. My mind scrambled to process them. I could see arcane replicators, hex-press chambers, Mana-fusion drums, even the very special mystic condensers. Those were the ones I could recognize. The entire lot of space was filled with expensive heavy-duty industrial equipment worth more money than I could even conceptualize. Equipment only elite Alphas and mighty packs had access to. Even some high-ranking magical corporations could find it difficult to have those around.

“You can still fight this! You have to fight this!” Magnus’s blackened eyes flickered, just for a moment, as if something deep inside was still resisting. But then his body tensed, his lips curling into a twisted smirk—one that was not his own. “You still don’t understand, do you?” The voice that came from Magnus was layered, distorted—his own voice buried beneath something ancient, something malicious. “It’s already too late.” He raised a hand, and the air itself seemed to shatter. A pulse of energy erupted outward, sending Frederick, Elia, and Astrid staggering back once more. The force wasn’t just magical—it was wrong, as if reality itself rejected it.

Soon, I'll publish his offspring's story, which would be darker, of course. But guys, I don't want to do it now. Silver had always been some strange weakness of mine. Whenever I tried to wear silver in the past, it had always burned. Also, it suppressed my magical abilities.
