Her house was spick and span. Helen switched on the lights and they shone beautifully, revealing the simple but classic setting of her living room. The flowers were fresh and neatly kept in a porcelain vase. The curtains were flowery and close to the fireplace was a chest of drawers where Helen kept all of her uncle's old history and magic books. Strategically hidden at the topmost part of her room was 'adult', one of her magical pieces that warded off evil spirits. Ever since her encounter with an evil witch when she was little, she had learned some spells and was taught how and when to use them by her late grandmother.

I close the door behind me and look around, the hugest room I've ever been in. The vast room has a king-sized bed in the middle. A three-seater brown sofa set on the adjacent wall, a coffee table and a dressing mirror full of so many items, you might think it's a woman's room by how neat it is. I look around it and there is nothing out of place, now how will I even find the wand. I think it's in the walk in closet, I enter, and I only find clothes, shoes, jeez! he has wallets of every color, and watches OMG he really loves dressing up?

I ask, reaching up and starting to unpin the laurel leaf crown. “Oh, Everleigh, don’t yet –“ Margot says, biting her lip and stepping forward to me. “If your silly magic attempt doesn’t work – which it won’t by the way –“ she gives me a small glare as I sigh and stop un-pinning the laurel. “Then I won’t need that anyway.” I nod, knowing that she’s right, and move quickly for the little drawer next to my sink. Margot scoffs. “You keep the magic in the bathroom drawer!?”

While Cahir's was a pristine white and gold, this one was decorated with varying shades of blue but it was not any less as grand and jaw-dropping as Cahir's. He threw open a door and walked it, pulling me along with him. "Ah – oh." I breathed out in amazement. The door he threw open led to a big closet. Although it was mostly empty, the sheer size of it made my mouth drop. Only a quarter of it was filled with things; dresses, jeans, a variety of shirts, bags, shoes and sneakers. The rest of the closet was empty but it had floor-to-ceiling shelves of pristine white. The closet was decorated with fairy lights but while I admired the place, Cahir turned them off. We were momentarily in darkness

he asked. “Nope. You touched it. You're cursed with us now.” “Damn it.” — The basement—if you could even call it that—was huge. Stone walls. Enchanted lighting that flickered on as we stepped in. Ancient magical runes etched into the floor in a circular pattern. Shelves upon shelves of old council scrolls. And in the center? A massive war table. “Okay, this is officially the coolest place I’ve ever broken into,” I whispered. Cassy spun in a circle, arms wide. “It’s perfect. Needs curtains. Maybe a beanbag.”

Two were in the front with the rest of the merchandise and the third was in the far back, on the highest shelf, of the back room. “There are three other sets my magic has connected to. Two are out front and the third is in the backroom. It is on the highest shelf all the way in the back. May I grab the ones here in this room?” I ask the clerk my expression still serious. I do not know if they will fully connect with me or if the reason, they are reaching out, is dubious. The clerk looks at me with a smile before allowing me to walk to the opening at the counter for me to walk behind.

He didn't ask a single question. He simply removed his own heavy, white wolf-pelt cloak and wrapped it tightly around both of us. "You're home now," his voice was low and gravelly. I didn't respond. Clutching Gale, I walked straight through the grand hall and toward the deepest part of the castle: the ice vault. It was freezing here, a place where the royal family stored its most precious magical ingredients. I gently laid Gale on a platform of frosted crystal. He lay there peacefully, like a snow sprite who would never wake up.

I’d surrender it in a heartbeat to protect you. “Don’t give up your magic… It’s one of your passions…” He murmured as we walked back to the piles of clothes hand in hand. We got dressed in silence and then walked back towards the main room. We got to the armoire room and there was a brand-new larger armoire where the old one had sat. The old one had two doors and this one had four with six drawers on the bottom. It’s huge! I could easily fit about two hundred dresses in.
