- The next day, I spend most of my time behind my desk, going through emails and paperwork and having Jo deliver them to Calvin in my stead. I’m doing everything I can not to think about last night at all. Which hasn’t been a hundred percent successful, because every so often, my thoughts wander, and I drift right back to that moment in the club. The moment I fell into Calvin’s lap. It’s been thirteen hours since then. Thirteen hours since I discovered how blessed he is. All that money and power on top of being sinfully attractive, God thought the cherry on top would be to endow Calvin Grey with a big dick.

‎ ‎Magnus shoved me into the hallway before I could respond. ‎ ‎"Move," Magnus ordered, checking his watch again. "The convoy leaves in two hours. And you look like a ghost. Put on some rouge. I won't have my prize looking damaged before I even get her home." ‎ ‎I leaned against the wall, clutching my bandaged arm. “You still like being late.” My throat tightened. I knew that voice. Magnus. He stepped forward from the shadows, his bathrobe hanging loose, the hem swaying against his thick thighs. A crooked bite mark scarred his collarbone—my mark from that wild night months ago when I'd laughed and sunk my teeth in, claiming him in the heat of it all. 'I'm branding you. You'll never escape me,' I'd growled then. Now, here he was, the CEO of MC Pharma, the man holding my family's life in his hands. “You’re... the CEO?” My voice came out hoarse, barely mine.

Not agreement, but she didn't push again. I lay in bed for a long time, too tired to sleep. My mind kept circling back to Magnus. Chase. Minutes later… “What happened in there, Chase, cannot happen again.” Magnus’ voice cuts through the room. Shaky and unsteady. He’s warning me? I sit there, coolly, watching him pace before me like a man trying to hold himself together. He stops in front of me, breathing hard. “I don’t care that she’s your fucking girlfriend. But I don’t need you fucking her on my goddamned counter!” He’s raging now. I just watch him. Arrogant. Unmoved.

there was no way Quinn would’ve been able to. His head was a mess. He’d never been so worried and sick as he was in that moment. Even the last time something like this had happened. He’d somehow held his shit together better then. Quinn knew that his subconscious and body were preparing him for the worst. He let out a garbled, pained sound. “Dude I can’t get any of the girls either. I don’t have that Mickey girls number though.” Chase said from the backseat. “Get on her social media it should be on there.” Elias said.

His suit and his position as a mayor screamed wealth and power, but Charleigh couldn’t see more than that, and she wasn’t attracted to him anymore. “I actually have a conference meeting with my brother and Kayden tonight,” she lied. “How do you know Chase?”

I whispered, contentment washing over me. When I woke up the next morning, Magnus' side of the bed was empty, as though he had never been there. My inner soul was shouting in pain seeing her so foreign to me . I locked her door and she immediately started banging it . " open it ...Magnus open it " she said desperately but I didn't listen to her as this was necessary.
