He pointed out at a small cafe pushed into the corner of the line of building Main Street was around the corner and it didn't go unnoticed by me that the town was still eerily quiet. He shakes it off and concentrates on driving. The GPS announces that he’s entering Oregon city limits with a population of 2,784, a modest town. Main Street features a diner, a hardware store, a library, and a church. Side streets lead into residential neighborhoods, nothing fancy or threatening. Just ordinary and quiet, a place where everyone knows their neighbors and nothing exciting ever happens. It’s exactly the kind of place where you might hide something valuable. He turns onto Magnolia Street. It's filled with modest homes on both sides, well-kept lawns and porches adorned with rocking chairs. Kids' bikes lie abandoned in driveways.
