Am really an observant person, during the drive here i already planned my escape route how many guards are at the door and at the main entrance and lastly that movement of the security cameras. Once I’m all dolled up, I leave my pack on the ground behind the barn, hook my finger through the straps on my heels, and walk into town. The main street is quaint. Two strips of shops line either side of the road in a rustic log cabin kind of architecture. The sidewalks hold large barrel planters of colorful flowers, and the streetlights are decorative with soft glowing globes. I pause next to a planter and use the rim to balance as I tug on my heels, then continue to the bar area at the end of the road.

There's a small red and white fire station and a combination of colorful cafes, flower and plant shops, and galleries. In the middle of everything on this main street was a yellow and brown two-story building with a large sign that said, General country store. It was hard to see much else, but a little further down, I could see a flashing red sign. "Tow trucks 24 hours." "Do you see it?! Hurry! Go over there." Taesha said excitedly.

Cammie has tried to make some conversation along the way, but Robins mind is preoccupied with thoughts of town, and how dangerous and stupid this trip could turn out to be for Cammie. Once they reach town, Cammie can see it’s a quiet sleepy hollow little country town. There are a few houses scattered along the outskirts of town, and as they drive through town she can see theres only one street going straight through the middle of town. The street had nothing but small businesses on either side of the street. There were no nationally known corporations on this street and it was really nice. By morning, Hallowpine has decided what I am. Not unanimously. Towns never agree that cleanly. But there’s a consensus forming, the way mold spreads in damp places—quiet, persistent, hard to scrub out once it settles. I walk down Main Street and feel it everywhere. Eyes linger longer. Conversations pause and resume only after I pass. Some faces soften with relief when they see me. Others tighten, jaws set like they’re bracing for impact. I hate the relief more.
