Chapter Sixty-Nine— kiss ★Maliya's POV★ I couldn't sleep. The safe house was quiet. Too quiet. Every creak of the floorboards made me jump. Every shadow seemed threatening. I lay in the unfamiliar bed, staring at the ceiling, and tried to process everything that had happened in the past six hours. Micaiah was a criminal. Daemon was a criminal. They were enemies in some war I hadn't known existed. And I'd been caught in the middle, used by both of them.

I looked around and saw I was in a very dark room but the ray of light from the very high window made me see. Suddenly everything started flashing back. Christian and Nigel yelling at each other, me running out, the black car parking, some men holding me and suddenly black out. It's so obvious now. I have being kidnapped and no doubt by my father. But who were the people helping him? My father has nothing and I doubt he can afford thugs and stuff. He must be working for someone really big.
