Their forearms collide with a crack. He absorbs the impact, pivots inside her guard, and gently but decisively hooks her ankle. Mala hits the ground hard, breath knocked from her lungs.
Silence falls.
Sky steps back immediately, offering his hand. “You dropped your shoulder before you struck. I saw it coming.”
Mala stares at him, pride and frustration warring in her gaze. Then she takes his hand and rises.
“That was enough,” I call out, stepping forward. “Mala, you did well.”
