The Bastard Billionaire (English Version)
She placed rice in the center, and we helped ourselves to the various dishes she'd prepared in her kitchen—fried and stewed eggplant, sunny-side-up eggs, tocino, and longganisa.
"Mom, where did you find tocino?" I inquired.
There was no electricity here; Mom relied on solar power for light and a portable icebox.
"I go to town once a week to get what we need. I knew you all were coming, so I picked up a few things you'd enjoy," Mom explained.
"What's this?" Angela asked, holding up a pot of yellow soup.
"It's called Bulanglang. It has squash, malunggay leaves, and squash flowers. There's some sweet potato, too. Try it! Just scoop some squash if you like," Mom explained cheerfully.
