His hands hesitated once—then sank into the foam. Careful. Not gentle. Controlled. Like anything wrong would end badly. Water ran down her neck. Silk clung to her body, turning translucent, shaping her without hiding anything. His breathing broke. Something in him leaned forward without permission.

Finn is on his knees. I don't remember him falling. He's just there, in the grass, his head bowed, his shoulders shaking with sobs or laughter, I can't tell which. The lightning that held him has dissipated, but he doesn't run. Doesn't move. Just kneels in the wreckage of his choices, waiting for the axe to fall. The pack turns.

He went down to one knee and caught himself on the other, refusing to go all the way to the floor.

Then he grabs a face towel from the handle and casually steps down, wiping his face and neck with the towel. Standing contrapposto, he carefully regards the captives one after the other. They’re all on their knees, looking down with guilt and fear, their hands bound in front of them. Except one. This one is on his knees too, but he’s rather looking at the treadmill, and his hands aren’t bound.

His sharp gaze drifted to the floor where droplets of fresh blood were, a trail Keilah had left behind. He knelt, his movements deliberate and graceful, studying the drops with a keen interest.
