Lulu The fire spread along the side of the tent. The heat hit my skin so suddenly my heart nearly stopped. I still managed to scream before Caspian shoved me to the ground, his body shielding me from the flying sparks. [Are you alright?] His voice sounded heavy in my head through the mind link. “I’m fine.” [I’m here. Don’t move yet.] Outside, shouts rang out. I heard Gamma Oliver giving orders to our warriors, the roar of the wind and the hiss of fire shooting out again from between the trees. The edge of the tent was turning black, the fabric slowly burning.

Chapter 1: Prescribed The burn plan was forty-seven pages. Yara had written it over six weeks, incorporating soil moisture data, fuel load assessments, historical fire behavior in this specific ecosystem, and the ecological outcomes she needed the fire to achieve. The plan was precise. It had a three-day weather window in late October, specific ignition points mapped to the meter, exit conditions that would terminate the burn if any variable moved outside the acceptable range. She presented it to the crew at seven in the morning on a Monday, in the ranger station’s small meeting room, and when she got to the timing section the crew leader crossed his arms.

Alicia stared down at him, astonished. "But... how," he said. There had been a fire, and the manuscript had been smothered. He had come expecting information or a recount scroll, and to find both still intact, he was astounded. Even so, he was well aware that they were merely replicas, it wasn't the real one. She smirked with a womanly grin. "Dear Darwin, the forest is my domain. You can't undo what's done once I know about it. Yet what you are seeing is just a replica of the real manuscript.

His shadows bucked violently at his back, screaming warnings, begging him to stop, but he didn’t care. The flames shredded his skin raw, peeling him to the bone. He didn’t care. She was in there. She had to be. But when the fire finally parted, when the smoke cleared, there was nothing. No body. No Sierra. Just ruin. Just ash. Just silence. Malick fell to his knees, his voice breaking again and again against the hollow night. “Sierra! Sierra!” But the world no longer answered. Gloria’s POV From the edge of the collapsing forest, Gloria watched him break.

"It's a good thing Jacob is gullible. He believed you were in Manhattan even though you didn't return to your aunt's house. But did you shut up the Langham family's driver? Aren't you ever afraid of getting burned?" "I was already burnt before I even started this, Sula." Celine leaned back comfortably on the chair she was sitting on. Her eyes gazed at the road that seemed to be deserted. The driver who drove her chose to enter the freeway in order to quickly arrive at the place Celine wanted to go.

Our best bet would be if the sprinklers in response to the fire alarm would do their job properly . I was so concerned about the books catching fire that I didn't even process the fact that there was a fucking flame in her palm ! It wasn't burning her , it was just whirling around , bright red and orange colours playing with each other in fury . I should interrupt . I grab a book from the cart and stand a good 2 feet away from the men . I close one eye and position the book in front of me with my hand to make an aim . Perfect . I hurl the book as fast as I can and hear a groan in response .

It fueled us. “Hold on, baby. I’m coming.” I whispered as we went back into the forest and worked our way down the hillside. More times than I could count, we fell and slid. Sometimes we would catch ourselves. Sometimes we took the other person with us. However, we never once stopped. “THERE!” Gavin pointed at something glowing up ahead. “Is that a fire?” “Let’s go.” Why the fire seemed to moving further and further away from us, I’ll never understand. Even when we caught up to it, I couldn’t believe what I was seeing.

I watched in silence as my childhood memories burned. "The small town of Conifer is burning this morning. Fire crews are struggling to contain a wildfire that started late last night off of US-285. Mandatory evacuations via reverse 911 are in full effect for certain divisions of Conifer and the surrounding areas." The scene cut to firefighters in full yellow gear battling the flames.

Nikhil breathed Hospital ? No ,please don't be what I'm thinking "Woah ,hospital ? What's going on Nikhil?" Sammy panicked and looked over at me before turning his eyes away "D-Danelle has been in an accident and the doctors say it's pretty bad man" Nikhil sniffed ,panic dripping with every word "And aunt Karina won't come down ,she needs you..Hurry up and get here" "What? Shit..I'll be there right now" Sammy didn't waste anytime ,turning the car right in the middle of the road..Luckily ,none of the cars were too close yet..
