He slams fist over heart to me. "My Luna King, scent is Ghost. Older Ghost. Ohio." Luna Skye Ashford steps forward. Silver hair to her waist whips despite no wind. Moon tattoo forehead glows blue, answering my fading silver crown. White silk dress clean despite rooftop blood. Snow and jasmine scent sharpens. "Marcus," she whispers. Name I have not heard since Ohio funeral twelve years ago. Elevator dings. Doors open.

Soren sat at the balcony, in front of him sat Maria gwaking at him dumbfounded. Soren shake her worried by her stiff poustour. " Say something ", he gesture. Maria snap back to reality, clearing her thorat she utterd "So you are telling me Luciano, Alpha Luciano. . You mean the Future Alpha Leader off Blood Moon Pack is your mate." Soren nodded.

A fresh mark showed on the inside of his wrist. The letter S. A red rose wrapped around it. I recognized it at once. Selene. The Moon Priest misunderstood and smiled. “A bond carried in the heart is always easier for the Moon to hear.” Ronan went still for a beat, then yanked his sleeve back down. His eyes flicked to me. I gave him nothing. Whatever had crossed his face vanished. The mockery returned. “What is it?” “No accident on the way this time, so you forgot what you were supposed to bring?”

He hesitated for a moment, then spoke in a solemn tone. "I, Lucian Thorne, Alpha of the Silver Stone Pack, stand before the Moon Goddess tonight to sever the bond. I reject you, Nadia Woodward, as my mate and my Luna. By the light of the full moon, I broke this tether. May the Goddess witness my words and set our souls free." "I, Nadia Woodward, accept it." As the words died out, our bond severed. My heart wrenched violently. It felt like a physical amputation of the soul, leaving a phantom limb that screamed in agony, as if the colors of the world had drained away, leaving only a cold echo of what life used to be.

"No, this isn't possible. She's MY mate. Those are MY children." "You rejected her," Marcus reminded him quietly. "You divorced her. You publicly humiliated her and chose Selene. The mate bond was broken, Kieran. The Moon Goddess gave her a second chance." "I don't care what the Moon Goddess gave her!" Kieran roared, hurling the tablet across the room where it shattered against the wall. "She's MINE! Those children are MY heirs! Landon has no right…" "He has every right," Marcus interrupted, his voice hardening. "He saved her life. He gave her sanctuary when you threw her away like garbage. He's treating her with the respect and dignity you should have shown her from the beginning."

The mate bond hit me like lightning tearing through my chest. I gasped, fingers clutching at my heart as the air around me shifted, thick with the scent of pine, smoke, and something dangerously familiar. My wolf whimpered softly inside me, confused, frightened… hopeful. I didn’t need anyone to tell me what was happening. The Moon Goddess had chosen. Slowly, trembling, I lifted my eyes to the man standing across the clearing. Alpha Kael. The most powerful Alpha in the North Ridge Pack. Tall. Broad-shouldered. Untouchable. His dark hair was tied back, his sharp jaw set in stone, golden eyes glowing faintly under the full moon. He was everything an omega like me was never supposed to have.

On both her and her daughter. But there were only a few ways to get rid of this mark and for an unclaimed wolf, only the mark from a fated mate could overwrite the rogue mark. Which was ironic seeing as it was impossible for a rogue to ever find a fated mate. It didn’t matter anyway, the Moon Goddess had already chosen my mate centuries ago. Auren. The name still brought pain, but tonight it felt distant. Especially, because my mind was filled with thoughts of the woman sleeping beside me.

I didn’t know how fast this was supposed to happen for someone like him, only that it looked too slow to be comforting. “He needs rest,” I said. Kai’s jaw flexed. “He needs to tell us exactly what the rogue was doing this close to the house.” Rowan’s eyes flicked toward Maya. Kai noticed. Of course he did. “She knows,” Rowan said. A silence dropped into the kitchen like a stone. Kai turned to Maya. “How much?” She swallowed. “Enough? I mean— I literally saw him wolf-out and WWE-slam a monster in the trees so— pretty sure I know everything.”

But tonight, the threads told a different story. "These trade markers," Kai muttered, his fingers tracing the glowing ink on a rune-slate that pulsed with ancient magic, "they all trace back to the Silver Moon Pack's sacred vaults." My breath caught. "That's Marcus's domain." The name still cut like a blade across my heart. Marcus the male who had once whispered promises under starlight, who had traced my skin like I was made of moonbeams and dreams. The same male who had looked into my eyes three moons ago and spoken the words that shattered my world: "You are not my true mate. You never were."
