He smiled faintly. “How touching. The sinner and his saint.”
Clara’s magic surged instantly. “You shouldn’t be here.”
“Oh, but I should,” he said, his voice velvet and venom. “You’ve been quite difficult to find, little moon. I thought perhaps your new master was hiding you again.”
Lucas’s blade flashed from his sheath. “Say another word and I’ll rip your throat out.”
Ryker’s eyes glowed brighter. “Still so protective. How sweet. You almost make me believe you care.”
