The Marriage Clause

The Marriage Clause

Speaking of Marcus, she looked around and wondered where he was, since she didn't find anyone she resorted to sitting on the porch and grabbed a small bottle of gin to soothe her troubled mind. Cherry Hillenburth scoffed loudly as she stormed out of the salon due to the nonsense gossip she was hearing.Tall, lean and with a mop of red frizzy hair which hence the name Cherry, she was a beautiful and an eye candy for the men of Gremlin County. There was no way the man she was trying to marry was married to someone else, she thought as she crossed the street, this was why she stormed out of the Salon—there was no way Marcus Sheldon was married to a woman from Los Angeles.

She's not the most patient person on mornings and my dad isn't any better. Oops I forgot to tell you who I am! I'm usually not this forgetful actually, it's just that I'm really not a morning person. My name is Leila Adams, I'm sixteen and a fifth year student at Brixden academy. I'm Percusian, or more accurately, half-Percusian and half-Nigerian.

He bowed his head immediately as a sign of respect. "What is it, Morgan?" I asked him. "An old woman by the name of Martha secretly wants to see you, she arrived with Alpha's guests, but they left her in the living area to attend to matters in his office," Morgan said, and I was shocked that Martha had come to the West to find me. I wondered what she was doing here. Had Lucian caught her and gone for her life? My heart went out to her. Hearing her name brought tears to my eyes. She was the only one that was kind to me in that place. She had every reason not to be, but she was kind to me.

This was a great book, rich in detail and with complex characters. It’s the second book I read from this author, the first being “Unwanted”, which had no ending. This book also has no ending. I’m really disappointed to have wasted so much money on books that appear to have been abandoned.

Jake asked in an obviously impolite manner, his question was followed by a string of murmurs from the individual seated. What meds? Did Jones Jackson do drugs? Maria thought, still observing the tense air that lingered. Now her curiosity was spiked. She observed as Jackson tightened his fists and his eyes narrowed. "Jake-" Natasha warned, "let's talk about something else. Albert isn't here too, on such an important day like this," Albert Macaulay, the iconic producer. Maria had hoped to see him too. "Imagine if Raid role had a new sequel," Cornelia Jenkins said from her seat. She played the role of Audrey in the movie.

CAPTIVE MATE TO THE RUTHLESS ALPHA TWINS

The others did not bother to hide the look of resentment that registered on their faces. She had to go to the needleworkers, exactly where she was going to find the lady from the fields. Jane had informed her that the lady, whose name was Marilyn, had no business working the fields at all, most especially on the day of the incident. She worked the needle and those in that division barely left their quarters as there was always something to be sewn around the palace. The revelation heightens Zena’s suspicion.

Mary Redferne

A rosy flush adorned her cheeks, adding a touch of youthful vibrance to her complexion. Her lips, painted with a subtle shade of lipstick, curved into an inviting smile that could light up a room. Her hair, tousled in soft brown waves, framed her face in a carefree yet alluring manner. Despite the late hour and the effects of the party, Tim's words echoed in my mind. He was right—Mary was the most beautiful woman I'd ever laid my eyes on. How had I ended up with her? It was a question I often pondered, one that still left me in disbelief at times.

Pursuing My EX Wife

Pursuing My EX Wife

“You act like she’s perfect.” Mrs. Thompson shot her a sharp look. “Can’t you see the difference between her and Lilian?” she asked, her voice laced with pride. “Lily is everything Lilian was not. She’s educated, well-mannered, and respectful. She knows how to behave in public and takes care of Marcus—unlike Lilian, who was always a burden to the family.” Mrs. Thompson’s eyes softened as she spoke about Lily, her tone full of admiration. “Lily is a good housewife, and she’ll make Marcus happy. That’s why I’m glad things turned out the way they did.”

One Night Stand with the Secret Billionaire

Ophelia said, holding up a vintage brooch in the shape of a silver lily. "It’s subtle. It’s elegant. It says you have history, but you don't need to shout about it." Before they could leave for the Sapphire Wing, there was one final obstacle. Margaret Thorne was waiting in the drawing room, sipping tea with a posture so rigid it looked painful. She looked Selene up and down, her eyes lingering on the emerald silk. "You look... acceptable," Margaret said, which from her was the equivalent of a standing ovation. "But remember, Elena, one slip of the tongue... one flicker of recognition in the wrong eyes... and the Thorne name is dragged through the mud along with you. My protection has limits.
