“You should be happy I let you leave with a bag. You came into this house with rags. I clothed you.” “She was just spending your money while being a liability.” Lady Carter went over to sit down. She crossed her legs and took a sip from her blue wine. “Get out, barren.” Marina wiped the tears off her face. She grabbed her bag, turning slowly towards the exit of the living room. She took quiet, painful steps out of the house she once called home. Her home. When she got outside, she looked back at the mansion that stood before her, and only one thing came to her mind.

I don’t blame them. I suddenly saw Marina. Weird, this wasn’t exactly her scene. Marina liked to stay home or read quietly in her room since she didn’t have a lot of friends. I’ve never seen her being out and about, attending college events. Then I saw a guy approaching her. I’ve never seen him before. He had long black hair, and he was taller than me. Her face lit up at the sight of him, and jealousy welled inside the pit of my stomach. Who was that, and why was she smiling at him?

Mary held my hand, guiding me to the back of the house. We crossed the stair gallery and made our way to the dining room, exiting through the back door onto a metal staircase. Mary didn't hesitate to start up, still holding my hand. " Where are we going? " I questioned as I went up. That house was amazing. " My favorite place in this house," she confided. We walked up to the third floor, and I recognized through the window the library where I'd been with Omar on the day of the engagement dinner, but instead of heading for the library Mary pulled me in the opposite direction, opening a door that led out onto a well-kept terrace.

“Oh my God… Sam said yes!” Tasha and Marian leaned in, staring at the live stream. “She’s engaged?” Marian gasped. Naomi tapped another clip. “Right in the quad—look at all those people!” A stern Librarian emerged from between the shelves.“Excuse me,” he said quietly, but firmly. “This is a library. If you’re not here to read or study, please leave the hall.” Naomi flushed and tucked her phone away. “Sorry, sir. Of course.”

As per the norm with small towns like this one, even the librarian seemed to have gone home confident that I would lock up behind myself. I really, really wished she hadn't done that. "Knock it off, Mar," I whispered to myself. "You're just being paranoid." I shook myself to try and erase the feeling, then finished packing my backpack. Purposely, I walked slowly through the room, making sure all the lights were off before heading towards the front. I wasn't about to let whatever was in the room scare me out of it. I had seen much more frightening things than whatever it was.

But this is just as important, if I want Selene to go down, I have to find proof to make Ivy see the light. “We are here,” Maria said, and she opened up the door. We walked inside, and everything still looked the same, just like the last time I was here. I could still smell the scent of old books and bones used to make some of the books. “The queen's stash is over here,” she said, and we walked towards the left wing of the library. The library was dark, I could barely see with the torches, but Maria seemed to know it well. Of course she does.

The maid had spent the early hours whispering to other servants: “Lady Mara is hurt… Luna Elsa screamed at maids… She acts different when the Alpha isn’t watching… She’s pretending to be gentle…” Each rumor was a tiny spark. Dozens of sparks. And Mara sat in her room, watching from the window as smoke began to rise. “Good,” she whispered. “Let Elsa feel what it means to have an entire pack doubt her.” Later that afternoon, Mara made her next move. She walked down the stone hallway toward the wolf library a research room where scrolls, history books, and pack records were kept. The guard at the door straightened immediately. “Lady Mara.”

she started planning everything, grabbing her phone and typing away. Maryam tried to protest but she didn't let her so she just gave up. "Let's go, then?" she smiled at her and she nodded quickly, standing up. They got out of the library, meeting the quiet and dark corridor. It had been an hour since their classes ended and they had stayed behind to study. Maryam needed it because she had joined late and she needed to refresh her skills. Cornelia called her driver which obeyed her order and was standing outside the gate just ten minutes later. "Corn," Maryam addressed her friend by her nickname once they were in the car. "Yeah?"

“Hello brother.” “I am at the Mall.” “Archies” “Really?” “I am on second floor.” “I am with friends at the corner coffee shop from BUR boutique.” Mary spoke as she turned to look at the door and waved. “Brother, look into the shop.” Maine looked in and waved back before walking in. Dana and Lara pursed their lips. They could only hear one side of the conversation, but they were not idiots. “Oh… Dana.” Maine’s face had an expression of pleasant surprise as he straightened after greeting Mary.

Chapter Two. Nina's POV. Time is short when you are happy, time is long when you are sad, and time is too slow for those who wait. But in my case, time is swift when you're in the zone. Two weeks had passed since I woke up as Lady Marina. Now, I am in the library, trying to research all information about this world, the world that I would probably live in for a while. According to Rita, my maidservant (which I'm correct). This is Lady Marina's private library; the whole Red Rose Manor has four libraries. One for me, one for my mother, one for my father, and lastly, the Edwards' Central Library.
