I don’t blame them. I suddenly saw Marina. Weird, this wasn’t exactly her scene. Marina liked to stay home or read quietly in her room since she didn’t have a lot of friends. I’ve never seen her being out and about, attending college events. Then I saw a guy approaching her. I’ve never seen him before. He had long black hair, and he was taller than me. Her face lit up at the sight of him, and jealousy welled inside the pit of my stomach. Who was that, and why was she smiling at him?

Once again, all eyes focused on the entrance, where an astonishing sight unfolded: two columns of troops, one dressed in blue and the other in green, marching in flawless unison. That was... The crowd's pupils trembled violently, and many felt as though their scalps were about to explode at that moment. It wasn't just the imposing presence of the marine corps in their camouflaged uniforms or the navy in their deep blue attire that made their hearts race. The fighter aircraft soaring above added another layer to the spectacle. It was a joint deployment of the army, navy, and air force. Could these troops truly have been dispatched by Sean? Countless gazes swiveled toward Sean at that thought.

I took my shower. After my shower and making sure my hair was pulled back into the perfect low, tight bun, all pinned and gelled down, so there were no fly-a ways; I put on a thin line of eyeliner, and a light coating of mascara. I went out into the main part of the hotel room, and got dressed, but didn’t put on my blouse yet. Out of all the navy uniforms, wearing my service uniform, also known as peanut butters, was my favorite. I always thought this uniform looked sharp. I could have any future I want, any dream I want. And then I feel like a charity case. Mom tells me I shouldn’t feel this way, that opportunities like this come once in a lifetime—if ever at all. It’s not the time to be prideful. I’d be nuts to back out. “How did they even know my measurements?” I ask as I lay the uniform on the table. It’s actually pretty decent, as far as academy uniforms go. A light blue shirt and dark blue tie, a plaid blue skirt, and a dark blue blazer. Blue is my favorite color, so I’m not complaining. Plus, gazing down at the uniform kind of makes me feel important.

They then further divide them into the nature of their abilities. The divisions between statuses were clear for all to see. Normals wore white blazers and ate at the crowded canteen on the first floor. Talents wore blue blazers and ate on the second floor that served better food with the Blessings who wore maroon blazers. Ignoring the colours of the blazers, their uniform looked and felt great.

After that, we went back to our room to take a shower and get ready. To augment the crew, twenty of the Marines have spent the last five days getting a crash course on how to sail the vessel, just in case. It’s a beautiful morning. The sky is a bright, cloudless blue, making the ocean a deep, sparkling blue as well. The oncoming breakers—not all that high, thankfully—rush toward the shore in bands of shining white foam. The wind is fairly stiff out of the northwest, making it cool down here by the water, but not cold.

Some here and some there, in different spots all along the water’s edge. Then, the merfolk walked forward, breaching the surface of the ocean. Their tails shifted to legs as they stepped out of the water and onto the sand. Many of them stayed in the knee-high water. They wore skin-tight uniforms, matching black with shimmering blue stripes. The uniform stretched down to their wrists and ankles, almost fully covering them. One merfolk stepped forward before all the rest. Ambassador Zale was dressed differently than the others. He wore a similar looking garment to what he had last night. A body suit covered in shells.

They turned and ran away from the explosion. Once they were sure that the remaining marines fled, everybody stood up. Rifle still at ready but now feeling more sure that the worse was behind them. A power-armor came up to their left flank. It looked almost the same as the ones the Empire Marines used except this one had a shoulder-mounted missile launcher on its right instead of the autocannons. Its colors were also different—this one had the Kalayaan Olive Drab and Coyote Brown Digital Camo. "Hot damn! Took you long enough, 1," Mountain roared in laughter.

"Come on, seriously, dad, is that really necessary?" "Off you go Clayton, I don't want to hear another whine out of you." I turn to Isabella and pull her away from where she is beating some eggs, "Boo, please come with me." "You are missing a leg, not a hand," my mom says as she pulls Isabella back. "You can get dressed by yourself." "Mom!" I make my way back to my room to change into the marine's dress blue uniform. Of all uniforms, I love this one the best. The dress blues is a dark blue coat featuring a scarlet piped mandarin collar and sky-blue trousers with "blood stripes" on the sides.
