The sight of Xander leaning too close to me had snapped something primal inside him.
“Step away,” Damion said, his voice sharp enough to cut stone.
Xander turned slowly, hand still hovering in the air as if to remind us he could touch me if he wished. “Her Majesty,” he drawled. “I was only reminiscing with an old friend.”
Damion moved forward, each stride like thunder in the confined hall. His gaze locked on Xander, but I felt the weight of it on me too, protective and burning. He stopped only when he stood between us, forcing Xander to step back.
