Zella’s POV The guy with Marla’s card waved at me with the card, smiling from ear to ear like he had just won a national contest. “Who are you?” I asked again, from a safe distance. My hand tightened around my new phone box. “Just a guy who hates bullies,” he confirmed, his voice being very low so only I could hear. He nodded towards the commotion still going on at the counter, where Marla was now trying to explain to a stone-faced security guard that she’d been pickpocketed.

He hums, the way he does when he knows I'm avoiding something. Then he clicks play on his laptop. My stomach drops. The viral video fills the screen. Marcellus, shirtless and smirking. "I'd like everyone to meet my wife... She said yes. Loudly. Multiple times."

Nina chewed on a mile long sticky toffee. We found Kane at the farmer’s market on the village square, talking to a girl selling vegetables. Marcelle nudged me in the ribs. “The golem found a girl. She’s pretty though.” Marcelle made kissing noises and I laughed. “Look, he’s blushing.” “Marcelle, you are so silly.” I laughed, but sure enough, he is smiling and blushing. “You don’t think he’s found his mate?” Marcelle frowned, thinking. “No, I don’t think so. If that were his mate, he would have taken her and ran off.”

He frowned, threw the card into the trash, and closed the door. After a while, he received a text message. Marshall finished printing his documents before looking at his phone. It was Mr. Brown. [I hope you like this little gift I got you.] Marshall snorted slightly. Suddenly, the image of Mr. Brown staring at Stella in the elevator flashed across his mind. 'That room card... Could it be..?' Marshall pursed his lips, grabbed the room card from the trash, quickly changed his clothes, and went out the door.

Marley glared at Sebastian in confusion. "Your ribs will be in a cast, and you'll have bandages all over you. Won't you look like a mummy?" Sebastian asked, laughing loudly. Marley was furious. He clenched a fist and ground his teeth noisily. "Since he refuses to listen, let's talk based on skills!" Wendell said coldly. "I'll make you into a mummy first, Ballard!" Marley snapped, pointing straight at Sebastian. Sebastian beamed and took two steps forward. He beckoned to Marley. "Since you're in such a rush, let me send you off first!"
