They were the canvas for my next masterpiece. I reached into my pocket and pulled out a small vial of concentrated methylene blue, a medical grade dye. In small doses, it’s harmless. In "Jean-Pierre" doses, it has a very specific side effect: it turns the consumer’s skin a delicate, sickly shade of Smurf, the blue ones. "One drop for the Prince," I whispered, my accent slipping into something vaguely resembling a Bond villain. "Two drops for the Marriage Merger. With skillful hands, the bartender made a beautiful drink with layers of blue, yellow, orange, and red in the glass. After finishing the drink, the bartender promptly handed it to Karina. "Enjoy!" he said, placing a tissue next to Karina's glass.

I can feel him eye-fucking me. “You’re exquisite.” I shake my head. “Tell him that.” I pick up my drink and down it. “I just want to forget him.” Blue Suit signals the bartender and orders us two martinis. “Here’s to forgetting,” he says, sliding the drink in front of me. I angle my body toward his and reach out, putting my hand on his bicep.

“It’s a Pink Lady. You make it with an egg white and grenadine to get it that color.” “Impressive indeed.” He sent me a smile of approval, then looked over at a passing server whose tray was empty. The gamma stepped up sharply. “May I get you something, Alpha Zane?” “A B&B.” The server nodded and looked at me. “Tanqueray martini, up, clean, dry, two olives.” He nodded again and walked his tray over to one of the bar stations. Nadia was slightly impressed as she sat on a stool. “How did you know I was here?” Janice asked. Nadia raised an eyebrow as if to say; really? But she did not say anything, she simply smiled at the bartender – another pretty young woman – and said, “Give us two glasses of martini. Shaken, not stirred. Make one of them dirty.”
