Water was considered the most powerful element ,the leader of all the other elements ,but ever since the elementals distributed their power ,water is no longer known for its strength . Malcom's was earth ,but he never showed much interest in it ,while we were kids and were made to train our element . What she found was that the elementals were a very rare type of guardians and their power was to control an element without a weapon. The elementals are actually very powerful but there have not been many elementals in the history, so not much information is there about their power

From what I know, Ignus and Aqua always argued with one another, attacking each other using their powers. They were feared and hated by the mortals. So Maka took their elemental powers and randomly selected a creature who would inherit them, and that was your uncle." She paused. Thane frowned when she started brushing her hands to his chest. He knew Elisia was trying to seduce her and he had no complaints about it.

They were rare and only one had a certain element. You wouldn’t find two different elementals that could use the same element, such as air, unless they were parent and child.

“We are aware that Alpha Allison with the assistance of Alpha Devin can control the element water and Jasper has the ability to conjure fire. This leaves us with Maria and Marcel.” I looked expectantly at the two patrons, halting my pacing. The five of them stood in a line at the back of the Alpha house as I’d instructed them when I summoned them. Marcel looked at me with doubtful eyes, “I don’t think I have the power to control any of the elements.” “You look like an earth-type of guy,” I smirked, looking at the tattoo of the phoenix on his arm.

I could still feel the heat of her flames and hear the rage in her voice when she realized we managed to thwart them. Clara had mentioned that Elementals were rare, coveted amongst witches to the point that they would send them off to be specially trained and raised by other Elementals. The entire thing felt wrong even back then. The number of elements and the ways that they could be manipulated were near endless, varying in power from monstrous waves to small sprinklings of hail.
