The space beside me is empty. My heart jumps before I spot him across the room. Mars sits near the window in his wheelchair, the dark blue robe hanging loosely around his body. One hand rests against his bandaged stomach. The other holds his phone tightly to his ear. His back is turned to me. "Keep your voice down," he mutters. There is something strange about his tone. It is too flat. I close my eyes quickly, keeping my breathing slow. Mars speaks again, softly. "How many people have seen it?"
