"Nothing too special. Just some spicy cucumber salad and beef and broccoli over white rice." "That sounds amazing." My stomach growled in agreement. Mason chuckled. "Want to taste test and make sure it's to your liking?" "I'm sure it's fine, but who am I to pass up a sample?" I moved myself over to the counter and watched Mason as he took a piece of the sliced cucumber. The smell of the gochugaru mixture was aromatic and enticing enough to make my mouth water. Without even thinking, I allowed Mason to feed me the slice. But it wasn't until I tasted the spices on my tongue, that the feeling of his thumb and index finger caressing the sides of my mouth registered in my mind.

“What’s up? How are you doing?” Ayah wanted to ignore him but his presence was too strong and close so she just nodded. Alex wiggled his eyebrows. She was always a bit tired just by seeing his energy but she would have coped if she was not in such a calamity. She was traumatized at the hands of this monster. “I brought Mochi. It is Japan’s special drug.” He said. He pulled her hand and made her sit on the couch. He looked so excited she did not want to say no.

Bianca chirps out in a happy voice. "I see that," I chuckle out. "What did you bring?" I ask as I open one of the bags riffling through it finding our favorite flavored Monsters. Smiling I pull out four of the twelve cans, handing each one to who loves the flavor. I hand Drake the 'Anti-Gravity' (Nitrous), Bianca the 'Energy Punch', Archer and I both only drink 'Khaos'. Settling ourselves in the living room as Drake and Bianca decide on a movie, I sit on the couch beside Archer, who is carrying the other three plastic bags.

Akiko asked. “He tried once, but it was awful. After eating it, Suzume even got a stomach ache. She insisted on eating it despite Hayato’s warnings.” Akiko was completely unfamiliar with the name Suzume. “Sorry, who—” “COUGH!” Akiko's inquiry was cut short by Masaki's cough. The soup bowl fell from his hands, spilling the remaining soup onto the blanket. Akiko immediately knew it wasn’t an ordinary cough. Masaki’s breathing became labored afterward.

He indicated a small remote nestled in the couch cushions, then retreated to the spiral stairs with the efficiency of someone trained never to make eye contact. I reached for one of the glasses, condensation already pooling at the base. The drink was pale green, frosted at the rim with something salt and spicy. I took a cautious sip—lime, cucumber, gin, maybe. It burned just enough to remind me I was still alive. Maya poked a sandwich, then ate it in one bite. “Well, if we’re gonna get murdered, might as well be with a full stomach,” she muttered. I tried to laugh, but the noise caught in my throat.

Andrews cross, table, benches, cage and padded sawhorse were. Maya, Joshua’s submissive wife, stepped up to the bar. “Masters.” She murmured softly. “Good evening, Maya.” Tank said. “You look lovely.” “Thank you, sir.” She replied demurely. Ink motioned to Ashley who nodded and poured a glass of orange pineapple juice. She was placing the iced drink on the bar as Ink pressed a kiss to Maya’s temple. “You may look up, little one.” “Thank you, sirs.” She looked around confused. “I though for sure….”

Max said solemnly, “I have four flavors.” He knelt in front of the cooler and dramatically produced one juice box at a time like a magician. “Tropical Punch. Grape Explosion. Strawberry Storm. And…this one sounds dangerous. Mystic Mango.” Ella pointed at the last one, grinning. “That one.” Max handed it over with a mock bow. “Your wish is my command, mighty ruler of Shell Castle.” Daphne passed her a cookie and sat back, her hand brushing Landon’s again. This time, she didn’t pull away.

She was as happy as a bird that had been let out of its cage. Maya was already beautiful. At this moment, her energetic charm attracted even more attention from countless bystanders. Their mouths were smothered in the grease of various delicacies, ones that included tofu with minced meat, lamb skewers, cuttlefish roe, and pineapple fried rice. Maya spun around in place, her hair swirling in the air. She then looked at Alex. “I’ve not had delicacies like this in a long time. I’m so happy today!” she exclaimed.

“That sounds like fun.” The waitress approached, delivering a bamboo platter completely covered in different types of sushi. From fresh unagi, to spicy tuna rolls, to sashimi, it was all there. “Anything else I can get you two?” the waitress asked. “Can we get some hot Saki, please?” Marco requested. “Of course,” she said. “I'll be right back with that.” Sabrina was staring at the plate of food as though she had just seen an alien. “I don't know what any of this is.”
