The masquerade was a world of silk, shadows, and secrets. Crystal chandeliers dripped golden light over the ballroom. Milan adjusted the black lace mask that covered the upper half of her face, the feathers tickling her cheeks. Her crimson gown hugged her curves, the slit up one thigh flashing with every step. She hadn’t planned on staying long, just enough to network for the promotion she’d been fighting for at Bourne Enterprises.
