Mia: The two days before the mating ceremony came so fast and it hurt to know that my time with him was gradually coming to an end. Looking at myself in the mirror dressed in a pretty white lace dress with a tulle skirt that covered my legs, and a crown of flowers resting on my hair, I looked so beautiful but the sadness was there in the depth of my eyes.

Lady Macbeth walked further into the room, while Shawn closed the door behind his back. The house looked unkempt as usual, the walls and windows are filled with dirty dust and the room smells bad —but you dare not complain in Matilda's house. "How are you doing Matilda?" Lady Macbeth asked, her eyes staring at the half-broken door of the other room by the left side of the house. Matilda is known as a crazy lady in the pack village, no one wishes to associate with her ever since she lost her husband, her child, and her sanity —they all called her a witch.

The woman cried in joy, the sound of her feet stomping down the stairs echoing in the small area. Sitting up, Freja finally took a good look at the infant in her arms. She was bundled in her arms looking up at Freja with big shining silver eyes. Emotions stirred within her that she hadn’t felt before. All at once she was feeling a maternal longing and despair. The tiny cute dragon she held in her arms, its wings tucking against its back, rubbed her small snout against the soft cloth of her wool shirt. Its tiny tail curled around her wrist gently as its owner rubbed its face against her in gratitude.

Mateo could always be calmed down with food. In the packhouses, Matilda worked in the kitchen, smiling quietly. Matilda was an experienced and benevolent housekeeper in the main house of our pack. Matilda didn’t live in the house, but she really liked the job and sometimes, when she was in a particularly good mood, she would bake fresh pastries for breakfast. My favorite was the cardamom bun, but Mateo could never say no to caramel pastries. Matilda noticed us and greeted us happily “Good morning, alpha and beta. You are unusually early today, but fortunately I have just taken the first batch of buns out of the oven.”

Blake “Now, please try for once not to get into a fight. Do you think you can do that, Blake?” My PR manager, Matilda is like a dog with a bone. She is relentless and always kicks ass. For a woman who is only five, four in heels with red flaming hair, freckles and burning golden eyes is the best way to describe them, she is fierce. She stands with the clipboard in her hand and a lanyard around her neck outside the locker room as I’m about to go in with the guys and get changed. She fixes me with her glare that says do not fuck with me today.

The kids caught sight of us and began to scramble away from their games. I got a small pang of panic again at the sight of so many stampeding small creatures coming my way, but Mrs. Addison's bellow checked them into a neat, orderly line. Matilda was left sitting on the ground, her face with a streak of dirt across it and her hair wild. She was smiling, watching a little girl who remained seated next to her, imitating her cross-legged posture. I remembered the child from a few weeks ago being named Charlotte, a little girl who was very well-spoken for someone her size.

I said to him while he harrumphed as he adjusted his collar. "Alpha Connor, while we were searching for Liana, I got a report that Matilda isn't planning anything nor is her father but Matilda is doing something that is weird, she is taking things from her father and she is selling his properties slowly without his knowledge. It is more like she the bomb explosion that set around their pack house was the trigger that she needed to start selling things" Arthur said with an expression of concern boldly written on his face.

Matilda was on birth control pills so I didn't have to bother about pregnancy. "Oh fuck, I needed this after today's bore," she said, trying to catch her breath. I laid down beside her, my breath coming in short rasps. "You saw her, didn't you?" I asked, running my fingers slowly over her thighs. "Yeah, I don't like her. She seems fragile but I just don't like the aura that she exudes" Matilda turned to meet my gaze. "Well, I think it's time to get dressed. It'll start raining soon" Matilda said, standing up and dusting her body. She brought out a chiffon dress from the branch of a tree.

The next morning, Matilda woke up feeling groggy and disoriented. She had tossed and turned all night, haunted by nightmares of her parent's death. As she got dressed, she tried to push the memories out of her mind and focus on the day ahead, she heard a knock on the door. She opened it to find two omegas standing in front of her. One was a tall, thin blonde named Felicia, and the other was a short, plump redhead named Emily. Matilda recognized them as two of the pack's other omegas.
