Why?……” Before he could complete his words, the lights that came on soon went off again and the only source of light was from the colorful leds used in decorating the whole place and most importantly, the light from the big screen. Matteo released his hands around Briella, yelling. “Who is the person behind all of this….” A picture of him appeared on the screen and surprisingly, it was a picture of him with someone that kind of took me aback. I was confused because what in the world was Matteo doing in the video with someone that in my wildest imagination, that I would have never imagined to have been with?

And then there was one more name. The Raven. A codename. No face. Real power. “Your mother answered to him once,” Rafael said. “Then they were equals. Then rivals. Now? I’ve got no clue. But if he’s still out there…” He didn’t finish the thought. No need to. We were up against more than just ghosts. We were up against gods. Meanwhile, across the sea, Matteo was fighting for his life. Barely hanging on. Beaten, starved, interrogated.

ELENA’S POV I was slowly fading and when I opened my eyes I met Lukas' own eyes filled with sorrow. He seemed to have been crying and even though I was the one knocking very loudly on death's door, I couldn’t help feeling sorry for him. I wanted to tell him that he didn’t have to do this, but I was too weak to even open my mouth. For a minute I couldn’t remember what was happening and I couldn’t even recognise where I was. It was upon seeing Lukas's face that I remembered that he had kidnapped me yet again after finding out that Damien was my mate. When was this ever going to end?

I said. "Titanic as in the boat?" He questioned. "Have you not heard of the movie with Leonardo DiCaprio?" He rolled his eyes. "Does he fight pirates or find out that his father is the galaxy's most evil man." I chortled. "I didn't think you were such a nerd." He cleared his throat. "I am not a nerd," he defended, "Again I just happen to have watched those movies because of Mateo." "Right because of Mat," I said sarcastically.

That’s the only thing that was left to her. ‘Her mother never said anything about the necklace. It’s only me,’ Chandler thought. “Do I have it?” Chandler asked. The two looked at Chandler. Given that Maxine's mother only talked about WayHoRix and Chandler before she died, Chandler guessed that he had what the enemy was looking for. “You have the hidden treasure?” Harold asked. Chandler isn’t sure. He squeezed the last memories he had in his brain but could not tell what exactly that hidden treasure was.

Something about chocolate just sits right with me. I loved this movie. Jaxson had to point out how many characters Tom Hanks actually plays in the movie! To say I was shocked was an understatement but the movie definitely finished off everything perfectly. “That was great!” I exclaimed after it was over. “Yeah! I really like it. Especially the dancing hot chocolate scene!” Courtney laughed. “Hot! Hot!” Jennifer sang, mimicking the song. “Another movie or what?” I asked, looking over at Jennifer. She had a sly look on her face.

“It means he planted something in your safehouse database. Something that reshapes Raven’s past. Names. Details. Timelines. As if she was never who she thought she was.” I didn’t move an didn’t breathe. Matteo sat up straighter. “Where is it?” Franca laughed. “Oh, I won’t tell you. But I’ll send you a riddle.” “You’re joking.” She hung up. The riddle came by fax. FAX. Matteo stared at the machine like it had betrayed him personally. I took the paper. Read the lines aloud: “I know your hands, though never met, I keep the things you most forget. A voice once borrowed, now your own. Find me where the past was grown.”

“Then who?” Alex hesitated, jaw ticking. “The Godmother.” That got a full reaction. Matteo’s brows rose. “You expect me to believe that ghost showed up in your living room like a guardian angel?” “I saw the footage. She was there.” “And you don’t know why?” “I’m working on it.” Matteo stared at him for a long moment, then stepped forward. “Then maybe it’s time to come back. You’ve played this detective charade long enough.”

“Yeah. I should head back. Thanks for the talk, Arielle.” He gave me a small nod, almost respectful before leaving. The moment the door closed behind him, I stood up and pulled Matteo into a deep kiss. He responded instantly, hands sliding around my waist, holding me close. When we broke apart, I stayed in his arms, looking up at him. “Matteo…” I whispered, brushing my fingers along his jaw. “Are you hiding anything from me?” He froze. His body went completely still against mine. Those dark eyes stared down at me, intense and unreadable. His mouth opened slightly, but no words came out. For the first time in a long time, Matteo Moretti looked tongue-tied.

The claws pull in on their own while I'm busy being pleased with myself about provincial capitals. Mato figured out the exact technique to trick me out of my unplanned shifts. Somebody asks me something boring and my mind and body get reacquainted with each other. We ran out of culinary questions on day two because I know basically nothing about cooking, so now it's geography. I suggested movies, but we’ve found something Mato is truly atrocious at. I’ve never even heard of the things he’s watched. It’s not a generational thing, he seems to exclusively watch obscure horror movies with actors who wish they were B-listers.
