Meet Unexpectedly Novels & Stories

I faced the first elder waiting for his statement or speech. "Good day, Alpha. It is really our pleasure that you honored such an impromptu meeting"he passed staring at me. "Who am I not to honor your meeting?"I could feel some smiles creep on their faces. "I'm glad to hear that, Alpha. You must be surprised that we called you for such an impromptu meeting. Pardon our manners because the meeting is urgent and we have to do something about it,"the second elder concluded. "And what could the meeting be that you couldn't inform me of before hosting such an emergency meeting?"

"Thank you Abby, for being my friend and helping me." We hugged and a few small tears escaped our eyes, it was an emotional moment. I finished cooking and we sat down to eat, while I had lunch we continued talking to them about different things, just like we did before. It is comforting to meet beautiful people along the path of life, although there are ups and downs we will always have someone to count on in those times of trouble.

… Miles pov… I couldn't believe my clumsiness as I accidentally bumped into Aunt Mae in the midst of the bustling room. Regret flooded over me as I looked up at her, expecting a look of annoyance or disappointment. Instead, I was greeted with a warm smile, and all my worries dissipated.

The revelation hit me like a thunderbolt, jolting me out of the maelstrom of emotions that had consumed me. "What!" I exclaimed in disbelief, the news of the impending meeting hitting me like a bolt from the blue. Less than a month ago, it had been a distant event on the horizon, a mere blip on the radar of my chaotic life. I never anticipated its arrival with such swift and unyielding force.

When I reached my apartment, I took a moment to gather my thoughts before pulling out my phone and drafting a message to Caroline. *Hey Caroline, can we meet up later? There’s something important I need to talk to you about.* I hit send and felt a rush of anxiety wash over me. Would she understand? Would she feel the same way? Time passed slowly as I waited for her response, each minute stretching into an eternity. Finally, my phone buzzed—a message from Caroline. *Sure! How about our usual spot at 7?* A wave of relief washed over me mixed with anticipation. Tonight would be pivotal; it would set the course for everything that followed.

"Definitely. Can't you see there are no other means of transportation here, except this one? Well, there are some cabs, but they don't park here all day." "You must be kidding, miss! Can you drive well? You know we only have one life. What if we'll get into an accident or something?" I smiled, so this is him. I knew him. The mighty Matthew who is unreachable by many. "So you don't trust me? It's okay. How can you entrust your life to a mere stranger you just met on the road? I'll go ahead then. Just stay here for a few hours and wait for a cab." I slipped and started the engine.

"Can you meet me at our spot in an hour?" The mention of "our spot" brought a flood of memories. It was a quiet park bench near the river, where Kevin and I had spent many hours talking, laughing, and growing closer. I quickly replied, "Of course, I'll be there." With our plans set, I continued shopping, my mind still on the upcoming meeting with Ann and the surprise Kevin had in store for me. The supermarket was bustling with shoppers, each absorbed in their own world, and I couldn't help but think about the intricate web of lives that intersected in this bustling city.

That was how we met in the first place. I walked to the second block. The plan had been to search all through till I found him but on getting in, I noticed the reception by the left. It was exactly like my own block. How come I never thought about this? "Goodness gracious!" I exclaimed. I was beaming with smile when I walked up to the receptionist. "I'm here to visit someone" I said without hesitation. She adjusted her glasses and examined me through the "where are your manners, girl?"

He unexpectedly met Amaya at the door. “Amaya?” he called her name, surprised to see her there. “Hi T, come with me,” Amaya said excitedly pulling his arm, then his jaw dropped. “Guys?” he said, surprised to see his family and close friends there. It was not his birthday and he was not aware of any event that happened recently that would warrant all of them to be there. “You are probably wondering why we are all here,” Amaya said, still excited. “Damn right I am!” he exclaimed.
