My cell phone rang from Benjamin; I glanced at Sean, who was focused on his tablet, and with a feeling of hesitation, I answered the call from the kind and friendly man. “Hi, Ben.” “Hey Ana, about Wednesday could you meet me? Come on, Jessica, Caroline, Peter and the others are coming.” It’s a surprise, I feel I have to attend this reunion. “Yes, Wednesday, where?” I glanced at Sean, who seemed still focused on his tablet. “How about at Starbucks?” “Good choice, see you Wednesday.” “What’s on Wednesday?”

And soon, it was almost time for the meeting. “ Hey, I don't want anyone to know that I'm here. It's going to be a surprise.” I smiled. The P.A. understood my words and went with me to the meeting. Four men and three women sat around the table waiting. “ Hi, Good morning,” I greeted as I stood in front of the board. “ I'm Katie Griffin.” I could see the surprise on their face. Sending a bunny to a den of lions is nice. “ Nice to meet you, Miss Griffin–”

" I was suddenly overwhelmed by a flurry of memories. Mason's figure overlapped with the kid who used to follow me around when I was younger. Mom's words went right over me as I stared at Mason, who smiled at me from where he sat. It turned out none of this had been a coincidence. This was something he'd planned out. We'd missed out on each other for too many years. Fortunately, we would be together from now on. We wouldn't miss out on anything for the rest of our lives.

“I’m managing, Henry. Listen, I know this might seem out of the blue, but can we meet? I need to discuss something important.” There was a brief pause on the other end, and I held my breath, waiting for his response. “Of course,” he finally said. “There’s a restaurant in town I’ve been meaning to try. How about we meet there around noon?” Relief flooded through me. “Noon works. Thank you, Henry.” As I hung up, a wave of uncertainty washed over me. Henry had been a good friend to Justin, and this meeting felt like a gamble—one without any certainty of success. But I had to take the chance. I couldn’t afford to wait any longer.

"Nice to meet you, Lucas. I'm Hannah." Lucas couldn't help but feel a surge of relief and happiness. Their conversation flowed naturally, as if they had known each other for much longer than a few minutes. They exchanged pleasantries, talking about their interests and hobbies. Lucas discovered that they had a lot in common, from their love of books to their shared passion for art.

As we walked, we caught conversations from different voices. “What do you think it’s about?” someone behind us murmured. “No clue,” another voice answered. “But if it’s a full call, it can’t be small.” Shane leaned slightly toward me. “See what I mean? People are already nervous. This kind of meeting doesn’t happen unless it’s something that affects all of us.” “How mysterious,” I said with a grin. Jasmine gave me a small smile. “It’s usually good news. Sometimes.” “Usually?” I echoed.

I shrugged thanking the waiter who brought our order, mill shake. “So, how did you two meet? I'm trying to imagine the place that would connect you two, a mall,- a party-” she eyes me again. “No, I don't think you're the party type. No offence.” “None taken.” “So how did it happen?” “It was in a park, late at night-” I started with my eyes dimmed and hands clasped around the glass cup. “I ran into him.” “You literally ran into his arms? Why were you running late at night? Where you being chased?”
