“You don’t understand balance.” Alaric laughed once, sharp, frustrated. “Not today,” he admitted. The shadows thickened around him again, coiling like living smoke. “But this ends one way, Lily Morgan,” he said quietly. “You or me.” The shadows imploded. When the dust settled, Alaric was gone. The sanctum was wrecked, walls shattered, runes destroyed, ancient magic bleeding out into the mountain like a wound. Silence followed. Heavy. Shocked. Real.

“All Emberbound allies are to converge on Obscura Arcanum immediately.” The rune circle flared once. Then the magic dispersed outward. Across mountains. Across forests. Across territories controlled by packs, covens, and vampire clans. Messages carried by magic faster than any rider or courier could travel. Jake burst into the cavern as the fight erupted. “Mirabel! Where are you?” he shouted‚ claws extended. She turned‚ her smile cruel. “Ah‚ the prodigal son. Come to die for your little mate?” Jake charged only to be blasted back by the relic’s energy. He hit the ground hard‚ groaning. “Jake!” Sharon screamed‚ rushing toward him‚ but Alice grabbed her. “Stay focused!” Alice barked. “We need to destroy the relic now!” Sharon’s powers exploded. As Alice battled Mirabel‚ Sharon stepped closer to the relic. The air shimmered around her as time bent and slowed. Her powers had awakened.

"He kept showing up when I felt worst. Said weird things about my energy." A beat of silence. Then Derek exhaled, shaking his head. "Energy draining is rare. Some call it ‘witch sickness.’ There’s no real cure, just… prevention." He abruptly changed the subject, pulling a book from the shelf. "This spell sharpens memory. Temporary, but useful before exams." As he leaned in to point out a passage, his shoulder brushed hers—and he froze. "Your magic," he murmured. "It feels… different." Rita forced a laugh. "Probably Pru’s amulet." She tapped the charm at her throat—a decoy.

Maelva said, his fists clenching as he remembered the image of his sister’s skeleton in the rotten box they had sent it in. “Whether the prophecy is true or not, no human shall live,” Maelva said as he stood up and left the room, his aura radiating anger after remembering the awful sight of his sister. Seraphine stared at the glowing moon. She didn’t know who the Ralta was, but somewhere deep within her, she felt it. Something ancient. Something that had been sleeping. And now, it was beginning to wake.

Vaelgor swung his sword toward the creature, but Alaric raised one hand and stopped the blade in midair. “You cannot command what I created,” Alaric said. Vaelgor's expression became furious as he forced his sword forward, but Alaric simply pushed him backward with a wave of dark power. I stepped forward. “Enough.” Everyone turned toward me. The flames around my body changed from silver to a strange mixture of crimson and white, and the ancient symbols beneath my feet began glowing in response. Alaric stared at me with genuine surprise for the first time. “You already have it,” he whispered. “The First Flame.”
