I hesitated, chewing the inside of my cheek. Finally, I offered a small, uncertain smile. “I’ll… try.”
Maeryn gave me a small, fond smile, her eyes twinkling like she knew a secret. “Oh, and I’ve made sure everything you might need is ready—robes, dresses, boots, underthings… all of it. You don’t have to worry about a thing.” She nodded toward the wardrobe and the boots neatly lined by the door. “Go on, change out of that wedding gown first. You’ll move much easier in something that doesn’t cling to every tired muscle.”
