I think I might be sick. The girl in the sparkly gold top bursts into tears while the other angels cower in the corner. Between sobs, she points at me and blubbers "she started it!" Big mistake. "Three against one? Seriously?" Felix's voice is so cold it sends a shiver down my spine. "Get out of my sight," he says. "And make sure you NEVER come to another Fable concert ever again. Consider yourselves banned for life." "But she bit me," the angel with the curly hair whines, holding out her bloody hand.

A smile bloomed on Merlin's face since she knew who it was. "I don't know how long I have waited for this moment. I know you are going to be angry, but both of us have no way to change what has happened other than accepting," Merlin thought to herself, her heart welled in satisfaction as she got out of bed, wrapping the sheet around her like silk armour. It was no less than a dreamy moment for Merlin. She made her way to where Zac was standing, the sheet dragged behind her. "I did not know how you ended up here. Have you given the wrong room number?" She said, acting innocent. Even though her happiness soared high, she could not let her guard down.

The little girl’s eyes were wide, her small hand gripping Diana’s fingers tightly. “Merlin…” she whispered, her voice uncertain. Kelvin, on the other hand, had gone quiet, his eyes darting between the adults, sensing the tension even if he didn’t fully understand it. Diana didn’t look at either child. Her eyes were fixed on Merlin. “A mistake?” she repeated slowly, picking up on his earlier words. “You’re saying this is a mistake?” Merlin ran a hand through his hair, frustration creeping into his movements. “I didn’t say that,” he replied, his voice low. “I just... this is complicated.”

His eyes gleamed with malicious intention after facing the little girl whom he thought to be dead during the extermination of the Genesis Coven. Who would have known that Shananel would miss such an important fact? Apparently, the enemy was not as weak as he thought. Somehow, Merlin did not know for sure who would prevail in the war. Talia immediately swerved her body to the right before she decided to gamble. “Reshis Infigar!”

It is a dark sending, more subtle than the horsemen but just as foul. “Greetings Merlin of East Avalon,” it hisses. “You are invited to attend court at your earliest convenience. Dress appropriately for a faerie ball, as there will be guests from the mortal realm to entertain us during our reveries. Attend alone.” The bird wails a final time before it melts into a green puddle of blood, pus, and bone. Walking back inside the room seems colder than before. Faye is sitting up. She sees me enter and releases a deep breath of relief.

“Drink this. It'll help with the pain. And maybe the sarcasm.” “Doubt it,” I muttered, sniffing the concoction. “Smells like regret with a hint of rosemary.” Merlin chuckled—barely. Then her eyes narrowed just a little. “You’ve got good instincts,” she said. “The way you move. The way you reacted.” I stilled. “And not just anyone reacts to being attacked like that with a combat knife and an eye-roll.” “Maybe I’m just built different.” “Maybe,” she said slowly, clearly not buying it. “Or maybe you're not who you pretend to be.”

I’m sorry I made you cry a few times while reading, but I made it up to you with a happy-ish ending. You may recognise Merlin from the legends about King Arthur, but this story is more closely related to the Merlin series with Colin Morgan and Bradley James. I’ve always loved the show and made this story with it in mind. I threw in a few Easter eggs from the show into it, so I wonder if you can spot them all. With your big brain, you probably can :) Hint: Eggs are mostly in dialogue, descriptions, and names ;)

It was a nostalgic feeling, a feeling that reminded him about the deceased Demon King, a being that he could never rival. But, Merlin is still the great sage, the most powerful mage of the Kingdom. There's always a solution. Merlin casted a teleportation skill, as his last resort, he teleported Luci to a far away place. A place that no human or any being have ever come back alive. The Cursed Forest.

Ash and Kai step back as a black ichor starts climbing out of her mouth and nose. Merlin holds the crystal to the liquid and it flows into it. It was thick and the tendrils move around, swaying as they find purchase on the crystal and then get sucked inside. Merlin is stroking her head, and still muttering in a language he doesn’t know. She holds his gaze as he continues drawing the ichor out of her. She’s shaking, and her spine drops back to the mattress as the ichor is finally contained in the crystal, which disappears into a pocket of the blue coat.

After all, she murdered an angel and got away with it. Cent, who was standing for almost two hours already, finally saw an opening to connect with him when the person of interest finally stood up. Merlin’s unfocused eyes and downcast eyes as he headed to the deeper part of the library, making it easier for Cent to ‘bump’ into him. Hugging the insanely enormous book, Merlin continued. His meek attitude reminded Cent of herself when she was still in the mortal world. Maleficent’s past self and Merlin walking with his gaze downcast, the two images overlapped with each other—bringing a bitter aftertaste for Cent.
