My throat closed. “Moon Goddess… It’s a baby.” Without even thinking, I fell to my knees. The pup whined, and its head fluttered feebly as if it were trying to lift its head but couldn’t do it. It appeared deserted, too weak to be able to make it through a night out here alone.
