His finger slipped from the amulet, down the centre of Milly’s breastbone, tantalisingly slowly.
“And you,” he said, staring into her eyes, “You are twenty-seven now. You’ve had fourteen years to fine-tune those powers. Maybe you can cling to control without the amulet now.”
His finger reached the hem of her shirt and paused.
“My powers grow stronger faster than I gain control.”
“Then prove this is Hecate’s amulet by showing me you’re in control.”
