Michael C Hall Audiobooks Novels & Stories

The announcement blasts loudly, ringing through my ears and lingering in my eardrums. Then I see the man who reigns terror among inmates—Victor Hale, his presence heavy, his face holding a grudge I cannot understand, like he wakes up every day looking for someone to break. “Name and bank number,” he questions impatiently. “Michael Hale.” “You a fanatic… are you a fanatic, Michael?” “Never been one,” I reply calmly. “You damn right, because even your God won’t help you here.” I smile a bitter smile, one that doesn’t reach my eyes. “I don’t need God in here.”

No hesitation. The way was open. The factory smelt of oil and rust. Dim lights creaked above. Footsteps echoed. Lena leaned back against the wall as three men walked past. Noah checked the map on his phone. "Michael should be in the main hall." They went in deeper. A door was ahead—open a crack. Sounds filtered through. Lena peered through. Michael was bound to a chair. Bruises were on his face, and blood crusted on his temple.

He finished his lengthy talk and stopped only when he saw that Micheal wasn't even listening to him again . What the heck was wrong with this guy ? He'd better be out of here if he knows what's good for him . He was fumbling with his pen , that got stuck in the chair when Micheal strong voice boomed around the room making poor Gabriel groan in frustration. "I think I was drugged yesterday . " He spoke in a drawl and Gabriel became alerted . Whenever Micheal's is in his devious mode , that's the time when his words are usually slow and precise .

A day or two won't be enough if you want to tour all around the pack house. After a while, Michael and I arrived in the hall and the first thing I did is swallow my saliva because I felt like everyone who was here inside the hall was looking at me. Michael seemed to notice that I was feeling a little bit uncomfortable now so he squeezed my hand three times as if he was telling me that everything will be okay. I took a deep breath and then dared to look at the people here in the hall. I heaved a sigh of relief somehow when I saw that most if not all of them are smiling at me or maybe they're smiling at Michael. Michael stood on a seemingly small podium while I was just on his side and staring

He turned, and took up the paper reading the headline. His face looked trouble as he sank down on the wooden chair. "Charles is to be the next president..." He ran his hands over his face, and stared blankly at the window, his lashes blinking in disbelief. "Are ye alright?" Michael was deep into his thought, that he didn't notice his sister standing next to him. He nodded, avoiding to look into Sheila's eyes, for tears shimmered in his own honey eyes. "Ye don't look fine. If it's 'bout the five quids, I can try to ask my friend for..."

"She was logging the weight distribution of where we sat. Why would a human being keep a data registry of a conversation on a couch?"

Suddenly, I was completely alone with him. I remained frozen near the center of the hall, my chin tucked low against my chest as my entire body trembled with uncontrollable anxiety. The sound of his slow, heavy footsteps clicking against the polished marble floor echoed straight through my pounding heart. Michael stepped down from the dais, closing the distance between us with the quiet grace of a predator tracking its prey. He stopped right in front of me, his massive shadow completely covering my small frame. "All those terrible things Deborah said about you just now..." Michael murmured, his deep voice dropping into a low, velvety frequency. "Are they actually true?"

“Jack, do you have any idea what you’re doing? You’re playing with fire.” Jack only chuckled. “That’s it. I’m going to drive. See you.” “Stop what you're doing! Now! Do you hear me?” Michael’s voice was a command, filled with concern. Before Michael could say more, Jack ended the call. He tossed the phone onto the seat beside him and smiled at himself, a dark thrill coursing through his veins. The hunt was only getting more interesting, more captivating. Why should I stop?

Raising his head and looking into the fire, Professor Huckleberry chuckled and said, “Michael, your curiosity will be your downfall. You could have easily killed us when we appeared, but you instead opted to find out what it is that we were doing. Hehe. Soon, you would regret your decision.”

Mandy sat across from Jaden, typing furiously on her keyboard. Her fingers clicked rapidly as she worked on her draft. When she heard him speak, she lifted her eyes to glance at him. “What could my brother possibly say? He said you were looking to get yourself killed and told me to keep an eye on you.” Jaden sighed helplessly. “I’m not looking to die. What can that bunch of idiots in the Hall family possibly do to me?” Just then, Mandy’s phone chimed. She unlocked it and glanced at the screen. “Michael’s been released. He went straight to the He estate. Apparently, the family brought Helen and Jordan there. Didn’t expect Michael to care this much about his so-called Mrs. Hall.”
